Last time I did an eBay trawl (maybe a month ago) there weren't any non-cossie Sierras for sale.

I was happy with £900, it certainly isn't worth anything close to £3000 though, still considering I was going to break it for the type 9 gearbox and scrap the rest it's done well to still be about, I hope its now running better though.

Mk3 granada better value than a sierra.
110%, I'm amazed by how cheap they are still, I paid £400 for my Scorpio, a Sierra gearbox is £300+ on its own now!

One is destined for my Capri though.

Is that really what type9 gearboxes fetch? I really need to clear my unit out. There are a few in there including a couple of P100 type9s which were always worth even more.

I still think it looked better on the cossy wheels than those ones,   funny it finally made it's way to Ireland as when I was trying to sell it that's where all the interest came from, I think i swapped it for the old rangie but would have to check the thread on it.

Why do they command so much money? I remember people putting them in kit cars, but that was a few years ago now.

I forgot you owned it, it was in Devon and Cornwall at one point too, since I sold it it must have had another 5 owners at least! Those Cossie wheels did look nice, I think I paid about £50 for them, their probably worth £400-500 now so it's no wonder they've disappeared, they were a complete bastard to paint and my finger still hurts at the thought of rubbing them all down!

Same thing happened to my Rekord E2. Had it for sale for nearly 18 months no one looked at it. Guy from Ireland showed up and payed £1750 for it (less than half what it owed me). 12 months later it was up on Irish gumtree for £3750. Fuckin 2gs more! Was gutted. I still miss that car.

Common upgrade for classics. It's why Toyota Supra gearboxes cost a vast amount considering there are barely any Supras left.
