Tickman Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Glad someone is on the case for your side. Funny how he has added some passengers, it would be great if he was done for fraud but no one will bother. Craig the Princess, myglaren, The Moog and 1 other 4
The Moog Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Received a letter from insurance company today saying that although i may be following the accepted practice at the roundabout, they think if it goes to court he will be judged in the right, therefore they will accept liability. trigger Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 What a bunch of cocks. Well he's clearing defrauding the insurance company so make sure you make them aware. myglaren 1
UltraWomble Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Twats. Shit in a jiffy envelope, wipe your arse on that letter and send it to their MD. Sorry, Im in quite a bad mood today, idiots and pain are not helping. The Moog 1
The Moog Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Yep spoke to them an reiterated he was alone. They have been pretty good and said they wouldn't win on balance of probability. Will lose 3 years no claims so not end of the world. Although UW suggestion may be applicable. I do wonder if dashcam footage would have made a difference trigger and UltraWomble 2
Craig the Princess Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Cannot for the life of me see how the front of his car hitting your rear bumper at a mini-roundabout could be seen as your fault. Disgraceful decision. The Moog and myglaren 2
Parky Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Can your guy not request details of the injuries his "family" have suffered? Because surely if there are doctors notes or hospital records relating to injuries suffered by people not present then that's fraud. Pure and simple. So either someone's bungee a few quid to a doctor or forged some local GP letter headed paper myglaren and The Moog 2
dave21478 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Standard insurance company practice of "Eh, we cant be fucked - its cheaper to just pay the guy to shut up than to spend time doing the right thing." I piss on inurers from a great height - thousands and thousands paid to them over the years and the very few times I have needed them to simply do what I pay them for they sack it off and take the easy option leaving me swinging in the breeze. So now I pay the absolute minimum for the pishest, lowest cover I can legally get away with from unheard-of companies and I expect nothing in return. Basically I just pay for the bit of paper that keeps the cops happy in a roadside check. If I thought I would get away with printing it out myself, I would. Mr_Bo11ox Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 CUNTS, drives me mental this. They just can't be arsed arguing and you/I have to stand the cost of all these whiplash-claiming fuckwits as a consequence. Its a fucking DISGRACE Richard, andrew e, Craig the Princess and 6 others 9

panhard65 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Please name and shame the insurance company as they really are a shower of shit. That is complete bollocks that he would win in court. I would get in touch with the ombudsman and complain very loudly to them eddyramrod, trigger, myglaren and 2 others 5

He swapped his smart car for a 4l jeep cherokee on friday afternoon. His insurance did what they needed to do over the phone, money paid etc, but (pre email days) the cover note was in the post, and he needed tax for us to fuck about with it over the weekend. Half an hour with powerpoint, paint and word I'd knocked up a legit looking cover note based on his old insurers paperwork and new insurers logo, we went to the local print shop where a mate of a mate worked at 4.45pm, who agreed with the score and printed it out 2 sided on nice paper, we went to the post office at 10 minutes to close and they taxed it and gave him the disc! We then went greenlaning all weekend! Official note arrived the next week...
The Moog Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 It's Ageas insurance. CBA with ombudsman, it would at best be 50/50 claim without any witnesses. Think I need to chalk it up to experience, be wary at roundabouts. 20 years since I have been driving so not a bad hit rate.
purplebargeken Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Sorry to hear mate Hope they fuck them off with the claim family. Twats.
Noel Tidybeard Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 how can a car already on a roundabout give way to one joining? myglaren and scaryoldcortina 2
fairkens Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Treating Customers Fairly point no. 5, seriously on the circs you describe you should push them to defend and quote TCF. FCA is all over insurers at the moment, they will be weary but you will need to be assertive to get it referred to someone with some authority The mere fact of the artificially inflated claim should show them the sort of claimant they are dealing with. Happy to assist if you need Tickman and The Moog 2
doobietoo Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 This.... I had the same a few years ago when an off duty police officer turned right into my car... my insurance said as he was a copper I didn't stand a chance in court. I pushed and pushed my insurance company phoning every day to check they were backing me because the other sides insurance wouldn't pay up. The coppers insurance co. finally caved in a few minutes before the court was due to hear the case and I got a full payout including payment for all the time and stress caused having to fight it which ended up double what the cost of repairs was. Take the help offered by fairkens and force your insurance company to back you or everyone else will suffer because this muppet wont admit he was wrong. Sloth in a bowl, Coprolalia, Tickman and 4 others 7
The Moog Posted December 12, 2015 Author Posted December 12, 2015 Thanks for the offer but I can't be arsed with all the hassle. As much as it sucks, I am just going to accept it and move on. Tickman and Mr_Bo11ox 2
purplebargeken Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Understood but I would still make sure that they are not entertaining paying for a car full of 'fake family'. That alone makes me want to hurt them. trigger 1
dave21478 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Sad but true. Life is too short and shit enough already to waste any more of it arguing with insurance companies. Craig the Princess and Tickman 2
fairkens Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Noooo! Understand the feeling, a large chunk of my working life has been spent arguing with insurance companies. Knowing the rules of the game helps a lot doobietoo 1
The Moog Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 So agreed settlement with my company. Initial salvage was £90, got that reduced to £20 plus upped payout. Means I keep the car and get £250 in bank, which I don't think is too bad. So that is all done and dusted. I need to keep an eye out for rear focus estate bumper.
Taff Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Did I read that right? He was on his own but it claiming he had passengers?
The Moog Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Did I read that right? He was on his own but it claiming he had passengers?Apparently that has been withdrawn. So just claiming whiplash for himself for an impact of less than 10mph
Craig the Princess Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 So if you try and do insurance fraud you can just remove the totally fraudulent bits leaving just the very probably fraudulent bits. Madness, good much finding a bumper Moog, is the focus staying with you now?
The Moog Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Madness, good much finding a bumper Moog, is the focus staying with you now? That's a good question. Will have a spare car so either xantia or focus will need to go. Lpg or veg that is the question!
Slartibartfast Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 In defense of insurance companies, I had an accident a month after passing my test (skidded into median, blocked the right hand lane of a carriageway) and if I hadn't had insurance I would have been stung for some nasty recovery bills, bills for repair to the road furniture plus storage of the car. I also got a decent check from them (more than the declared value of the car in fact). I had very little money at the time and I would have been completely screwed if I'd had to pay for all of that out of my own pocket, plus I wouldn't have been able to replace the car and get to work. It's not always a scam. scdan4 1
