WORLD'S WORST COLLECTION THREAD (new Renault content)

This is the man who bet a million on black when it came up red. This is the man who married a sex kitten just as she turned into a cat. This is the man who moved into the smart money just as the smart money moved out.

This is the man who bought a diesel Renault, the day before everyone on the forum put an immaculate R8 up for sale for £PENNIES.

Everyone must have something in life he can rely on.

No big collection thread, because it was a short drive up the road with the missus in tow. £205, a year's ticket, 215k, and it stinks of dog. WCPGW? Lots, probably.

That doesn't look very splendid at all. Well done.

Brilliant.  Looks and sounds disappointing in every way so I hope it proves to be utterly reliable and competent for so long you get sick of being stuck with it.  Don't forget to sell it just before the prices go stupid because they become collectible for no reason.

Mate has a Scenic Monaco up for sale, leather and everything. I was interested until the insurance bloke quoted a telephone number at me. Shame as it is a lovely kitted out thing.

Good luck with it.

Description SCENIC FIDJI DCI

Good luck with that.

To be fair I think one that's made it this far should be okay.

^ That. I have nothing but praise for the Renault 1.9DCi engine I ran. It was utterly quite acceptable in both performance and economy.

It wasn't installed in a Renault though and I only had it 8 months incase it exploded.
Is it an automatic?

Hope you are stuck with it for many years to come !

My mk1 scenic was such a reliable, comfortable car. I would buy another if I could find one, only 82 1.9dt models left and the DCI is a bit new fangled for my liking though.....

Got loads of bit for scenics if you want, foc

It takes a special kind of person to buy a leggy dizzler Shitenic that stinks like a damp hound. Top shiteing, and yes wcpgw?

They're not quite as horrible as they're painted, but still utterly dismal. Hats off to you.

You would be amazed how well they handle, especially if you are running late and are in wales....

I've ridden a good many miles in the rear seats of a Mark 1 Scenic and it's pretty comfortable, especially compared to the typical recent model bought-on-finance-or-leased VAG shite.

They are probably a good car.

However I associate them with sofa's in the front garden, plasma TV's,hyperactive kids and their diabetic parents.

At least it's not an auto.

Aye, it's a bloody awful piece of shite, like.

You bought this yesterday so it seems fair to ask; has it had any catastrophic failures yet?

Although I wouldn't remotely consider buying one myself, they're not really that bad, my mum had a brand new 1.4 Scenic on a Y plate in 2001, it was an entire year old before it broke down (the AA bloke's solution was to keep turning it over with the throttle held down for about 20 seconds until it burst into life in a large cloud of brown smoke, followed by a thrash around the block to clear its throat).  Mind you, never had any more issues after that, it had an amazing interior with cubbyholes everywhere and seats that moved every which way.  Still see it around as the person who bought it after it was traded in (for a Ka!) has kept it all those years and it still looks as good as new.  Mind you, it's not a diesel and it almost certainly doesn't have 215,000 miles on the clock so good luck.

Worst collection thread ever. You walked to collect it, and drove it home. No money shot, no I had to wait 2 hours for the AA and no photo of SWSBO looking furious whilst she sits in the stinking pile of dog smell waiting in the rain those 2 hours. And no photos of the rusty bits and the smoke from the slipping clutch. Get a life man.
