It still survives now, as does the Newcastle and Gateshead Water Company building in Allendale Road. This picture is from 1971. The office are now used by Newcastle City Council.

i never actually understood why the vaux brewery was demolished, remember many times being driven past it and thinking it was massive. was sad driving past it being demolished, im not sure i would know where it was now is that long since i have been to sunderland. all family there are no more so not been. always wondering if it should not be retained for conversion into flats or a museum or whatever, i guess it was never listed and was cheaper to redevelop than to make a feature of. sign of the times
