Two? This forum, etc......

Hair - keeps your head warm in theory. It also gives the wind something to bother and allows insects to obtain respite in a place of safety. Hair, it's not just a fashion statement.

So what does Mr. Shitpeas do when it is your turn for the shared face?

Would you like to buy an Oldsmobile. It would go well with your beard.

Not today thank you sir.

But thank you for the kind offer.

I hate to say it but it went for scrappage as it would have cost too much to get it through the MOT in the end. It was compounded by the fact that I was on the bones of my arse at the time and the money I was offerred was exactly what I needed to get the Bimmer back on the road after sitting dead for two months.

Hated doing it but I just had to use my head instead of my heart for once. Planning to sell the Bimmer and get another 900, though. Miss that car everyday. :(

I would have bought it for what you paid for it  :-(

Me too probably. Certainly for bridge money. :(

How many great threads are there like this from before I started reading AS in late 2014 and how do I find them? I laughed my head off at the eccentricity. Loads of enthusiasm pre-collection...buying suddenly on a whim...raffling another car to accommodate the AX (because the Colt was too small!)...detailed collection thread including a dozen photos from every angle...then suddenly "I hate it to be honest. It's for sale" all within a day. Brilliant! Glad I'm not the only one who does this stuff. I've been showing the thread to other people and they've also chuckled.

Its a genuine mental illness.

Ben, it was a pleasure. That was the simplest and friendliest vehicle acquisition I've ever made, and unusually the wife and baby both approved (see pics).

The little Citroen made it home without a hitch and I'm not ashamed say I enjoyed every one of the 30 miles back. King of the road at 54mph!

The best way is to start your own..... Tell me, how do you feel about Omegas? And Chester? And Barbara Cartland?

Me too!

In hindsight putting it up here first would have been preferable of course but I was honestly up shit creak at the time and needed cash quick to get that BMW back on the road. I do genuinely feel a bit shitty about doing it, though. Like sending a faithful old donkey to the glue factory. :(

Great thread, most amusing. If I hadn't been tied up with looking after daughters and packing to go on hols I might have seen it again back on page 4 and put in a silly offer myself, thank goodness I was otherwise distracted!! :D

That thread is even better. I like how it starts and ends with meetings of the same lookalikes with a pointless 1,000 miles and £1,000 inbetwixt.  Just insane.  Don't know how I missed it. Don't really get the hostility towards the lotto winner at the end though.

What we need is a sticky with links to particularly amusing or educational threads. A sort of AS greatest hits. "Threads of distinction" maybe, so the good stuff is not lost forever.
