I'm interested. I'm not far from Gaydon and quite frankly I need a job...

I wouldn't worry about that - I'm a Computer Science student and I can't use much of Office either, especially Access.

In fairness, that's because my A-level teacher taught us how to hard-code databases in Pascal/Delphi.

And before anyone asks how long ago this was, because Pascal - 2012-14. Yes, really.

I'd apply if I was in the Midlands.

Sounds like they are planning to take all of the ability and skill away from the driver. This already may have happened in some cases.

The job sounds great.

However if this is the future,  i suggest chaps that you buy good condition 90's designed chod ASAP and care for them and baby them to make them last as long as possible, cos there ain't going to be no shite a few years from now, cars with all that crap will be short and expensive lived.

New_Pod, anymore details please? I'd really like to get on applying if I can. I really need a boost now. Send me a PM with the details if you want.

"Ltd Co", so you're self employed, and contracting your company's services to JLR effectively?

Does sound quite interesting, otherwise - Good luck Lord S!

In  the short term I'm happy to take on "staff" and pay them via PAYE.

If you want to drive Land Rovers all day then join the Army.

Is there anything for a fat lazy bloke who hates meetings and has a 'grey sky' approach to everything? I'm pretty good at doing as little as possible and have a CSE in annoying Irish work colleagues.

Or join the Royal family

I've spent 6 years contracting and it appears those particular "facilitation" skills are very much in demand. In fact it seems my cynical approach to anything I'm asked to do,( i.e. asking why they want to pay me so much to do that, when I know a bloke in Chester who'd happily not do it either for half the money), and insisting that I only do stuff I personally consider worthy of me*, seems to be working up to now.  I'm particularly good at thinking about the box.

* It's not that I'm anything special, but if all you want is a bum on a seat, I have a low boredom threshold, and am very lazy, so if you want me to pretend to be busy, you need to make me believe that what you asked me to do actually has a point.

Had a quick look at the rates on offer, and quite frankly, I'm sticking with KNEW-KLEYER, or Aerospace.

Might have come across you somewhere! If I'm reading correctly into that post...

Is he a contractor raking it in, don't think he's ever mentioned it before

Did anyone actually go for this?

I did, but sadly the position had been filled already.

Hey ho, there's always other opportunities out there.

The job would have been filled before it was advertised, they just advertised it because they have to. At our place, jobs get advertised externally, but everyone asks around their mates, so we end up with another stupid air headed cunt of a bint who lasts 8 months before doing one because their shit, leaving us to sort out their mess...

Can you tell what sort of day I've had today, with a mate of someones who'se worked with us for 10 months and thought she knew better than myself at 9 years and someone else at 12 years service?

Amazing, there are actually jobs out there that actually last more than 2 months? And people get employed even if they are arrogant airheads? I must be doing something wrong somewhere... Maybe it's as I've always thought, I simply don't 'fit' in most work environments.
