MOTed until August 2015, so that's now then........... Amazing how these things are. I keep resisting the urge to buy one as I know it will be a world of pain 99% of the time.

I seem to do. I got quite excited when Arthur Daley's Jag came up for sale and again when George Gently's Rover hit the market.

I also collect TV/Movie related model cars and often build model kits to resemble supporting role vehicles.

Speaking of which, I wonder what happened to Mr Bean's Mini?

Posted

There were three Mr. Bean Minis. One was orange and only used once in the initial film 'Mr Bean'. The first of the green ones was used in the series until crushed by a tank in the episode 'Back To School'. From then on a second green one was used until the end of the series, which was then sold to Peter Nelson's famous collection of film cars in Keswick. The entire collection was sold in September 2013 to a museum in Miami, where it still is. Whatever happened to the orange one nobody knows.

Yeah, just discovered that. Well, you learn something new...! Or rather, you're reminded of something..!

Was the Jag parked outside a house in episode three of "Bottle Boys"?

I like this, it's a bit like Cluedo, but without any clues. I'm going for an episode of Midsomer Murders, the one where Inspector Barnaby goes undercover to find the infamous golf club dogging murderer. The Jag can just be seen in the gloom at the top end of the car park with the interior light on, but you can't really make out all of the number plate as someone is being done over the bonnet.

There is a phone number on the ad, if you're that interested, ask them.

Whilst you're at it ask em what the scabby Hi-Lux and Police Astra were used in.

They were in an episode of The Bill cancelled at the last minute but titled "Thieving Pikey Bastards"

Genuine shout here, there was about 3-4 years ago a C4 drama about the end of apartheid and I distinctly remember some Sovs being used to ferry representatives of both the ANC and the government to secret talks in Gloucestershire. 1 was possibly Champagne beige

Can't remember the bloody name of it now, nor who was in it... but of course I remember the car...

EDIT: I also remembered the closing music track and unusually found it in the band's wikipedia page. It was called Endgame, came out in 2009 and starred Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jonny Lee Miller and Mark Strong.

Isn't the car either, but lots of other chodworthy vehicles were used... http://www.imcdb.org/movie_1217616-Endgame.html

Been in many a show - Tim Wonnacot used it a lot to ferry himself about from antique shop to auction house in Bargain hunt - and on the BBC grapevine - shagged Most of the  contestants wearing blue jackets on the spacious rear seats .

Also appeared in East Enders as most shonky Jags are, Phil Mitchell was shown to place a magic tree on the rear view mirror before taking Sharon up the back alley.

Also appeared in Traffic cops were it lost 18 coppers in Beemers - a Helicopter, Two Rozzers on Fireblades and a Harrier Jump Jet - and still had time to fill up with petrol and a jetwash .

It was used in the first episode of Roland Rat,despite said episode being broadcast in the 80s. Before the Jaguar was built.
