Looks alright to me, that does.

But then you're a lot closer to it than I am.

I'm slightly disappointed, I thought you'd bought a used Princess Anne, only two previous owners, full service history and always stored under cover.

I hope you weren't joking about the 8 track because I've just bought three cartridges for you.

Here they are. Who knew there was a Steppenwolf Greatest Hits album? If you want the rest of the box, which contains 50 or so cartridges, it can be had for £30.

Old Man had one of these! I think it was R reg, pale green, had slots. Last thing I knew it was sold to someone who later showed up briefly on Scimweb. It's on SORN now.

Just a thread full of win! Good to have BV back

Autoshite at its best, like a Benny Hill special, very 70's, lots of smut with a large portion of oeeeerrrr missus

You sir, are a legend. My eBay watch list has a couple of players in it. I look forward to enjoying Steppenwolf whilst I await the AA sometime...

Looks beige! Might have some competition in the shonky category at the next Scotoshite.

Remember to tell anyone that mentions Princess Anne that Reliant sold 500 Princess Annes a week.

Nice motor, didn't Princess Margaret have something to do with these?

What an excellent purchase, pure 70's beige.

By my reckoning this one makes a total of four Scimitars on here now (The Tamworth Massive?).

My one had a Motorola 8 track unit fitted to it from new but after 44 years only the radio sort of works now.

So i put my old faithfull JVC i've had from new in its place.

Your one looks like its been loved at some point with its alloy rocker covers stainless coolant pipes and electric fuel pump.

Has it got a stainless steel exhaust and fuel tank for extra win ?

It does indeed have a stainless tank and exhaust, winnar!

Been out and carried on with the cleaning, it's, er, about as good as it's going to get in my custody. Bled the coolant and it seems OK, will be uber paranoid about it though as these have a history of cooling issues....

Been informed by the Scimitar web guys that it's on TR6 wheels which needs spacers, I heartly agree with that and will get some sourced, it will fill the arches out nicely.

Swim web is a mine of information, but can get a bit ''clicky''.

And you have to watch out for the Grammer Police as one new guy found out when he got crucified recently for misspelling Stirling Moss as Sterling Moss.

Re the TR wheels they obviously have the wrong offset and i'm not sure if spacers alone will sort it,maybe longer studs required too.

For pure 70's style find a set of 14x6 Wolfies and sell the TR wheels on for a good price.

Quite right, too.

Loving the hot beige action here.  No offence to all the lovely SE5s on here, but personally I've always preferred the SE6 - it's a 1970s over 1960s thing.  Stellar shiting sir.

Christ on a crutch.  Imagine waking up and seeing that on the pillow next to you...

To be fair, she'd probably say the same about me

I've spent far too long cleaning this thing and trying to make it presentable. It's now as good as it's going to get. I also realised, by actually driving the thing, that I can't see any of the dodgy bodywork from the drivers seat. WIN

Got the coolant bled up and over 40 miles tonight it was fine. Webasto wound back, and off we go

Things to note from my first proper Scimitar drive.

1. Mechanically feels good, clutch bites a bit low though.

2. Loads of torque but I haven't revved the engine too hard, because...

3. The tyres are fucking terrible. Lighting up in second gear with an Essex at half throttle, so around 23 1/2 horsepower is too much for them

4. Brakes seem pretty good but haven't been pushed because of 3.

It turns out from the Scimitar forum that it's on Triumph TR4/5/6 Alloys-Minators, not Minilites. These are the wrong offset which explains why the rear arches look a tad underfilled. A set of Slotmags shall be procured post haste, if anyone wants these Minilite reps then give me a shout...
