Whaddya got?

Kicking off with this one from the Bay of Eeeeee:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neosocket-Fuel-Saver-Saving-Device-Fuel-Shark-Economizer-Neo-Socket-FuelShark-/251896896688?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3aa6399cb0

FUELSHARK is a break-through, patent-pending invention in fuel conservation. FUELSHARK will let you save on gas just by plugging them into your cigarette lighter sockets. You will start saving gas consumption by 10% to 30% immediately

I call BELM

Next up - magnetise your fuel...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120741149768

This Magnetic Power Fuel Saver helps you to achieve better gas or fuel mileage. The passage of fuel
through the magnetic field causes the hydrocarbon molecules to separate with the fuel line which
would result in greater oxidation thus giving higher combustion performance and efficiency for
a cleaner
burning engine.

Furthermore, scale built up and corrosion in the engine can be eliminated allowing your vehicle to
run with greater power.

Another amazing product from Cyber Energy

"The HHO Gas is the real deal that pays by itself, you can expect an increment in mileage up to 20-35%"

"This is a New HHO Dry Cell Model: L2

Our Dry Cell is Capable to Produce in Average of 0-2.0 lit/min. of HHO Gas on Demand Suitable to supplement your Vehicle's Fuel. When HHO Gas is added to a Vehicle is proven to Increase Horsepower, Lower CO2 Emissions and Save Fuel.

From the inside out our Dry cells are manufactured with the highest quality materials and rigorously tested to ensure safety, effectiveness and optimal performance."

Of course, for this to actually have any effect, the water tank would need to be somewhere near the size of the cars fuel tank, if not larger!

HHO gas - a.k.a. steam.

So this is water injection?

Ready and willing market of Mongs will be buying ALL of that.

How about we do an AS start up selling homeopathic petrol?   Soon we will all be rich enough to afford swamp-find Montegos whenever we want.

Hydrogen injection- the science* behind it is that the alternator will provide a current to a rudimentary electrolysis cell, which supplies a mix of "hydrogenated oxygen" into the vehicles air intake upstream of the throttle body.

Theory being that the vehicle would burn the hydrogen and therefore need less fuel... Because we all know that petrol is delivered via the air intake and the injectors are there just to look pretty*

Total and utter bollocks, all cleverly wrapped up as SCIENCE!!

If that doesn't make it fit, nothing will.

That gloop that repairs worn piston rings.

That gloop that fixes HGF.

That gloop that repairs punctures.

I'm just very cynical where gloop is concerned.

When I got to Mini shows I'm still surprised to find this one bloke still selling little bags of lead to drop into the tanks of classic cars. I'm also surprised that trading standards haven't tapped him on the shoulder too. At school in the common room there was always a copy of Max porn...sorry max power and in the back would be an advert for this little gadget that you fit in line of your brake servo. All it was,was a T piece with a filter that drew in air and was supposed to give you more power and economy. In reality your engine ran lean and melted thus not working anymore.....so saving you money on fuel.......ahh now I get it,it really worked then.....silly me.

The next one is people buy these cone air filters that they shove on the end of their car intake that is supposed to constitute tuning. NO! All your doing is making your car draw in hot air thus losing power. I used to own a clio 172 years ago and went halfords to buy some bulbs, when I came out a chav was eying my car up. When I got talking to him he proudly told me how his 1.2 had the same performance as mine due to a straight trough exhaust and a K&N air filter. Oh how I laughted.

Apologies if it's not your field but legally how can they get away with selling things like that? It must breach the Trade Descriptions Act

Why on earth are they so specific in the mileages? Does the specificity add legitimacy to the claims for the morons who by this nonsense?

"I've put that power liquid in my oil, but haven't noticed any improvements after 187 miles.... better wait until I've done 621 miles to be sure".

Because 187 miles are 300 km and 621 miles are 1000 km. They just ran the km figures through an online converter for the Yookay market.

But you couldn't tell everyone at the Mille or Goodwood that you vaxed your car with Swissvax if you had it merely resprayed.

True... Such is the way of the rich.

I bought a tube of "What Scratch" scratch remover paste from Wilkinsons for £3.99. Used it all over the Mercury to restore the paint and it works a treat! Rub it on then just polish off when dry. Bit like T cut but gives a shine afterwards. Reckon I could empty a tube or two of this into a fancy plastic container, call it something like 'Swiss formula restoration compound ' and make ££s. No end to the gullibility of the rich.

Its reasons like this why I couldn't be trusted with money.

If I won the lottery, I'd make a post of detailing world explaining how I had bought some of this, and was going to stick up a post soon, where I detailed my car with it.

Then I'd have a photo of me chucking a bucket of water/washing up liquid over my micra, followed by one of me pouring this all over the car and rubbing it in with a washing up cloth, and "buffing" it off with a duster.

Then I'd revel in the outrage.

On which other forum could Swissvax and Micra possibly be mentioned in one and the same post?

I'd buy one of those kits & revel in the fact that they'll have to make an owner's plaque up for the push-action cylinder lawnmower I'd use it on..
