Parked up the road from my place - boxy beige Micra with for sale sign in window. I will check it out and take a pic tomorrow in case anyone fancies one of these.

Sozzer  - said 80s, is actually 90s, but is a K10.

Please. Colleague is having difficulty getting insured so this might be his 'ting'.

K10s are very for winners.

My colleague is a winner. He needs to win further, you see.

OK, too dusky now for pics, but I will find out how much and do some ham fisted snappery in the morning.  I have seen the car tootling around here, and it looks tidyish.  My ex wife had one of these years ago, and it was actually rather ace in a shite sort of way.  A local tramp sometimes kipped in the car when my ex forgot to lock it.

Speaking of old Nissan's that need saving there's a Sunny van sat outside my local scrapyard. I need an excuse to have a look, anyone interested in taking it on?

I just walked the pooch down to the corner and can confirm that this is in fact a K reg (1992/3) Micra.  I could just about make out that the asking price is £375 and that the car has an MoT  (well, it says "tested").  It looks solid enough for a 22 year old tin box viewed in the dark, but I will have a proper look in the morning.  Location two miles from Junction 6 M40.  I am happy to contact the owner if one of you lot is seriously interested, and will get the phone number from the ad tomorrow anyway.

Has it got a Bosch pump? Could be ideal for me.

Ask at the local takeaway food establishments. All the ones round here seem to use those exclusively!

I've had loads, they are brilliant. Spend a few quid tidying it up and they sell really easily.

Micra S and SLX models with the five speeds are the best, there's not much difference between the 1.0 and 1.2 but much prefer the 1.2. Automatics are really good as well, but feel a bit feeble over 50 mph. The gearbox changed to high gear at nearly 40 mph! Pointless in 30 zones.

All the GS models are auto with a sunroof.

Bought for 120 quid, sold for 350, now scrapped I think:

I bought this car off this old lady for 180, then sold it for 550. It was immaculate! She cried when it went. :( Fella budded and won on eBay. Then got hissy and wanted it for less because I was making a profit on it. Then wanted tax thrown in on final price. Had enough and said OK - he came from Isle of Wight, paid and drove off. Didn't send him tax and cashed it in.

Ex Sporty Shite Micra - welded, new wing and loads of other stuff, then sold it to a mate who is still driving it

They're a bit floaty to drive, but they tick every box for a small car! Would love a 'Super Turbo'.

I took these pics blinded by the sun, and one that didn't come out was the one with the phone number, but I will get that later.  The car is in fact silver, not beige.  It is a three door car with a manual gearbox.  Grey cloth seats and luxo* plastique interior.  No radio.  Sunroof.  A few minor dings and scrapes, but pretty good overall, I would say.  Visible blebbage on nearside front wheel arch, but bubbles not gaping holes.

My parents had one of these on a E plate, a car in which I spent time honing the craft of driving. Very happy memories of it, and very capable cars for what they are. Used to be 4 of them in the 6th form car park, now I haven't seen one for ages except on here :(

If I win the lottery one of these will sit in my heated garage next to a Vauxhall Senator.

I could time capsule it for when my daughter is seventeen, but that's six and a half years from now!

I think legally you still only require an interior mirror and one external. Though I had an old v4 96 saab with no external mirrors...

Yup. I'm pretty sure there is still no requirement to have two, just pure market forces drove the change. Same as reverse lights. The requirement for at least two rear view mirrors came in for 1978 I think. One must be offside, the other can be internal or nearside.

My p6 has no exterior mirrors as I found out attempting to reverse it into my lockup the other day.

You mean man, now that poor person will get calls from here to next Christmas, not necessarily from us though. You do realise that as a hub of international activity, this forum is scanned by MI5, MI6, MFI, The Company, GCHQ, etc.

Yes, and he has also put his number on a bit of paper in a car parked next to a great big busy road and a pub.   Joking apart, data protection and privacy law are two of my specialist practice areas, and I am amazed at how daft people get about the notion that where they live and stuff is a secret.

It's an 'L' model - one wing mirror, no intermittent wipe, AM radio, no interior door light, etc

Shite Pov Heaven!  Amazing they even put carpets in.  From memory, my ex wife's C reg Micra had rubber mats and no carpets.

Posted

The ones released as an A reg were Datsun Micras. I doubt there are many left.

The only thing that goes wrong on these are the vacuum lines. All the cars are carb only.

I'd forgotten how great these cars are, with their poppy out rear windows and forward folding bonnets.

I only ever drove one in London.  Great little chuckable town car.    Park it anywhere.  Probably a bit of a nail on a motorway.

Ive seen that over the last few weeks, couldnt be bothered to stop and look.

Looks tidy, I could pick someone up from maidenhead or wycombe station if it helps? Drive past said pub, swmbo used to be the landlady, her exs family ran it. Apparently its a shithole, but i think shes biased...

The pub is Royston Vasey incarnate.  A pity, as it used to be a jolly biker pub back in the day.   Nearest good pub is in Sydenham.

I could also do collectage of a buyer if on a weekend.   Bus from London to Oxford stops at Lewknor.  Trains also at Risborough and Thame/Haddenham.

I can offer during the week, you at weekends? What excuse does a Shiter need not to buy this car then have a beer at sydenham (which I agree is fucking top, been there a fair bit!) with us!

....and one that didn't come out...

Didn't come out?

Did you use a fucking Instamatic and 126 film?
