My mate had an RS Turbo, then a cossie.

He bought an astra as a daily hack because the fords could not be left anywhere.

Even sporty vauxhalls got nicked.

Nothing! Do exactly sod all to it but leave it standard that'll make it different as most of the others are rust or scene*

What about the No Fear eyes sticker across the back windscreen?

Were these early or late 90's?

Forget about stick-on tat... Just buy some decent tools and a welder, as it's a Ford to keep the thing on the road for years to come !

How about the zenith of 90's cool - Gentlewomen and Ladymen, I give you - cos I don't want them -  Lexus rear lights.

(I'll pause while you all spontaneously vomit).

Oh and on the subject of stickers, recall a vogue for stickers advertising shitty local nightclubs that the owner doubtless frequented.

(And thanks for reminding me of Fido bastard Dido - god I loathed those fucking things at the time and now)

I have Fido Dido stickers in the back windows in the Xantia that I bought on purpose.

Turtle wax turtle air freshners should get a mention here....

Try finding one of those hyena stickers which were given out as part of the Home Office's anti-car crime campaign in the 1990s. Your local nick might still have some stashed away :)

For a car of your period you need the following.

Auto lok (and window sticker)

Sparkrite alarm.

Check.

My brother had a mini 850 with OAKLEY written across the back window in the 90's. To even my junior years it just said 'Car thieves... I've spent loads of money on a stereo. PIONEER was a similar slogan. Never saw someone advertising Aiwa or Alba however...

I distinctly remember Halfords selling matching mudflaps and car mats for Taz and Yo Sammity Sam....

Tax disc. Don't buy, obviously, just print off a 1994 one.

It was supposedly available all over the UK, but the reception was better the nearer you were to the transmitter in Ireland. Where I live (West Cumbria) it was pretty good. Except not during hours of darkness, for reasons I could never fathom.

It was also rumoured at the time to be boderline illegal for them to be transmitting a signal that was clearly designed to be picked up in the UK. Though that could have been an urban myth and/or confused with the legalities surrounding '60s Pirate Radio.

Atlantic 252 seemed to pretty much disappear in '98, for reasons never explained. So it was popular right around the time your Fiesta was young.

Nice motor BTW.

It broadcast across the UK and Ireland from 1989-2001.  It was replaced very briefly in 2002 by a sports service Teamtalk 252 and currently RTE Radio 1 can be heard on 252 LW.

Atlantic 252 played a mixture of top 40 hits alongside hits from the 80’s and 90’s with a format of more music less talk.  It’s biggest ratings were in 1995 with just under five million listeners in the UK.  It’s often remembered for it’s big prizes and DJ’s with fake and frequently pun names.

It wasn’t illegal but the confusion was that the UK authority believed it to be an Irish station as it was based there and the Irish authority believed it to be a UK station as it was aimed at the UK.

The signal covered all of the UK (and Ireland) but was weakest in the South East of England.  The reason for the signal being poor at night was because they had to run on a lower power at night as the LW signal travels further at night and it interferes with other radio stations (in the case of 252 mainly one in Algeria) so the station ran at full power 500kw during the day and 100kw during the night.  It currently is running on a lower power all the time to keep costs down (in the 90’s it used about £1000 of electric a day to run).

The Fiesta looks a good buy, good luck with your period mods.

That's the doodad.  Couldn't find one of him on a skateboard when I was looking, so I got this one instead.

That Fiesta looks GR12.

I've got a Scot FM sticker in the back window of the 740 and I managed to retrieve a complete Wellguard Car Alarm sticker with '041' phone number out of a 740 in a breakers.
