It is a shame I didn't make this. Mike and I nearly spontaneously decided to go but then realised neither of us wanted to drive all the way to Wales and back in a day again, or sleep in a car, or try and find the funds for alternative accommodation, or hope there was a spare tent available... and a number of other excuses.

Looks like the weather and location were absolutely stunning for it. Seeing the pictures getting posted is really brightening the end of my weekend up and it has been a good weekend anyway.

Here's a photo from the museum reception:

I had a good time, although a shame I only ended up going for the Friday/Saturday morning. I popped back home for a shower on Saturday, and the combination of a busy/disappointing week, very little sleep Thursday night (working late on the Stellar) and the fact I consumed both night's rations of alcohol in a few hours , meant I felt absolutely knackered by mid afternoon and thought it best not to drive down Here's to next year though!

Got back to Peebo around 11pm - but took me another hour to swap cars. Long story short: the MGF has a parking pass, the Piazza doesn't (and I'm coming back up North for a week).

Despite vari-hoonage 'twixt campsite and monuments, the Piazza coped fine and managed 26 mpg overall; decent for a JR120.

Great scenery and similar company. Would like to take the MGF there for a run - the Piazza's in it's element on smooth, fast B-roads rather than hillclimbs wrought with black derv smoke.

Citroen Xsara leaking water - improvised O-ring from rubber gloves. Lost bleed valve, which did one on the slopey car park, used valve cap off a bike.

Was is one of you in the blue (?) Rover who passed me on the M4 around Maidenhead on Saturday morning honking and waving? I was in the red Anglia.
