Partridge Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Yo. Rover is a bit broken and can't be driven a proper distance. I need a car to get to work in the week. I need a car to get from P'bro to Hampshire at weekends. To really annoy me I am due a car on long term, but not for about a month. Nobody can lend me a car. In short I need two cars because the Rover will have to go off the road for a bit while I fix it/get it fixed. It's not terminal though and not the end of the world. However...I need a very cheap shitter by this weekend. No luxo barges or big engines. Oh, did I mention it needs to be cheap? The 307 is out because I need something which can happily survive a few more hundred miles. A sensible distance from Peterborough would be good but I would travel. WOT U ALL GOT ARTEHSHITE?
Lacquer Peel Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 You are spoiled for choice for sub-£500 cars on gumtree, this stands out though. CLASS.http://www.gumtree.com/p/rover/rover-216/1116808482 Is Bo11ox Motors selling anything? Tam, Partridge, Cavcraft and 1 other 4

Vince70 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 It could have as the picture above is from the original Suzuki brochure which she has and the pictures for it have been taken at the De Larr Warr pavilion in Bexhill and she only lives around the corner from it. And as she bought the car just down down the road from Bexhill new it was most probably her car and I've never seen another identical to hers. I'm sure she won't charge extra for the bodies lol.
The Moog Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I can offer you my pug 405 estate. Probably a bit far from Peterborough though. 1. 9td. Been used a as a work horse but happy to let it go for scrap + a bit. You can then scrap it and get most of money back. A few niggles but I have no concerns about driving it anywhere. MOT is August and will do about 40 mpg on motorways.
Christine Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Tell me moar, Vince70, if Partridge doesn't bite ..i need a car too

Vince70 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Tell me moar, Vince70, if Partridge doesn't bite ..i need a car tooWell the lady who owns the car has had it from new and it's a fantastic runner and is a 1.6 petrol it has mot till I think next Febuary the interior is absolutely immaculate which is surprising as it has bucket type sports seats and being a typical jap motor everything works and the boot doesn't look like it's been used as its had a sheet down in it since day one. The body doesn't look too bad apart from the passenger door which has a crease in the door skin which it got from Aldi car park last year but it hasn't taken the paint off. The only downside I can think of is it has a bit of a gearbox whine (had it for the last 5 years that I've known the car) which disappears when you put your foot on the clutch pedal. I was told the CD player can sometimes play up if it hasn't been used for a month or two but I have a brand new one sitting in my loft if it's a deal breaker that I could fit. It doesn't use a drop of oil or water and the engine will go on forever and has had a very easy life as its never been thrashed or taken over the speed limit. I will try and get some pictures up tomorrow
D Spares & Tyres Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Those Baleno 1.6s go better than you think! But I have a 51 plate Fiesta if you are interested. 1.3 3 door. 11 months MoT £350 Has the old pushrod crosslow engine rather than Zetec Nowhere near Peterborough, its near Kidderminster

castros_bro Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Added to list. That MIGHT be doable. How long is the MoT? Good point, I think it is a couple of months but the papers are at work so will check tomorrow.
Partridge Posted May 19, 2015 Author Posted May 19, 2015 Thanks mate! A couple of months is fine. I am moving to a place with MOAR_STORAGE soon so if it lapses it can take break until I have the monies to sort it (if it fails). Just so you know, I will probably look at Semi-C's cav first, because it's closer.
