Currently watching an episode where one of Arthur's dodgy car dealer mates was selling a Sherpa pick up and wouldn't take some Pikey's Mk1 Escort van as a part ex as he claimed it was worth nothing - how times have changed!

for reasons I won't go into, I've had Minder on series record for 4 months now. It's almost chod overload at times, I watched one last night where some bloke crashed a truck in a line of cars that included:-

Lada Riva estate

Simca 1100

Fiat 128

Mk2 Capri

Marina 4 door

Renault 6

Mk2 Granny

and a Jag of some sort.

^ Love the array of assembled chod placed for the ford cargo to plough into. OBV they were the cheapest bangers the production company could lay their hands on- solid gold shite!

It was Arthur's stock, and they were indeed a pile of shite that he couldn't sell. The nephew hired the lorry and staged the accident so Arthur could claim their value* from the hire company's insurance.

I know someone who was inspired by this ,he said as much when years later got his girlfriend to ram his Suzuki TL1000 after he had a wheelie/ lack of talent/ skip interface. It was a Fiesta hire car not a Cargo though.

This series 7 being shown now on ITV4 was filmed during the summer of 1988 so a great time for chod IMHO

Also some great actors appear in series 7 that are no longer with us like Fat Charlie who died before series 7 was aired and DC Roycott who died just after series 7 was aired in 1989.

Whatever happened to Jimmy Nail? What's he do now? I can see him driving something shite that's all.

Watch out when using terms like 'pikeys' on here.

There are a couple of lefty clipes who may report you to the mods for that.

The ones with Arthur's soft as shite nephew and no Terry are god awful.

TBH, I used to think that, but some episodes are not too bad.

The incidental music, however, is God awful.

Think London's Burning - I know, it were shite - and you get the idea.

I find the term `lefty` offensive

A mate of mine got married a while back and his lovely bride to be wanted the Witney Houston theme tune from The Bodyguard as their first dance.

Imagine her surprise when the locally-hired DJ, up against it and trying his best, was unable to find the Witney Houston tune and felt that the theme tune from Minder was an acceptable substitute.

20 years later and I currently have it as a ring tone specifically for him.

I saw todays episode at 4pm. Did you notice the Volvo 340 that appeared twice in the background at different locations? I think the same blue MK3 Granada appears twice too at different locations. And what was Terry doing with that MK2 Fiesta Popular?

I noticed the Volvo aswell. The Mk2 Fiesta I think in an earlier or later episode the Fiesta belonged to Dave the barman, so it could be Terry borrowing it off either Dave or Arthur to get around, I know in this series he has a later mk3 Capri either a Gold or a White one. It was a bit odd seeing him get out of a Fiesta though. I also noticed a few remarks about Terry's age in this episode.

Terry was driving a white mk3 Capri in one I watched the other day. Watch them every so often (mainly on YouTube) and I'd never noticed it years ago that Arthur was a total twat to Dave. He never pays hum and is always off loading his dodgy shit on him and the poor sod just accepts it! :-)

The MK2 Fiesta driven by Dave and his wife Lucy two episodes previous to today's was metallic blue, the one Terry was driving today was red/maroon.

In a couple of later episodes Terry drove a Mk1 and a Mk 3 with the same reg plate. Did the producers think no one would notice?
