Yes, he said you used to live in the same area as he does.

It's a small world!

You will never sell that rover with that video as you've forgotten the wheelspin shot.

The tyres are pretty old so perhaps we'll do a burnout...

Hard to say regarding the value but those twin cam D-series Honda engines seem to have a following. Not your average R8 for sure.

The 216 GTi looks really clean. Surely it's worth fair money in that sort of condition? I'm struggling to comprehend that it's almost thirty years old.

What spec/year is the red Chevette?

it's an 81 GL 4 door saloon so comes with the door strips, a nice red and black tartan interior and the black rear panel.

I'm quite pleased with how this video turned out. Feedback welcome.

I really liked it, especially the stop motion bits. Did you get the paint from the place in Thornton Richard recommended?

Thanks, yeah I got the paint from Autopaint in Thornton. I had them mix up a couple of spray cans because we couldn't be bothered trying to faff about with the compressor and gun.

I bought a new camera to help with the videos and tried some stop motion stuff while replacing the wings on the 305 estate.

Upon removing the passenger wing I discovered some rust so cracked the welded out to make a repair.

Liking the Chevette love.  My first two cars were Shove-its, red W reg hatch followed by yellow X reg saloon.  The former died when a tree rudely jumped out in front of it.  The second was bought in haste (see: tree incident), and had a noisy diff from the start.  One day when pulling away from a crossroads there was a bang and the diff wasn't noisy any more.  But neither was it transmitting propshaft rotation into half-shaft rotation.  I was quite unpopular as I pushed it sadly off the busy junction.  Next car was a Mk1 Fiesta 950 base, which I have to admit was quite a revelation after the Chevettes.

yes 9farty festers were quite unrefined compared to an chevette weren't they? ?

I've stuck my gold Automatic Chevette up for sale and been offered this as a swap. A 2.5 v6 Nova with engine from a Vectra. I'm seriously thinking about it.

Brilliant. Aged 17 I dreamt of re engined novas. Usually a 2.0 from a cavalier though. That must fly. Plus it’s looks a sleeper.

I would.
