Looking at your business model response I think I may be able to help.

I am in Kinghorn so if you let me win, even just once, I could save you a potential fortune and pick it up myself! 😄

When he was heading back to where he'd abandoned the van noticed the clutch starting to slip on the Defender so decided it might be best not to try also towing the transit van.

How does the clutch feel now on the Defender?

Wonder what will fetch more, the 3dr escort or the AX?

Another one would be a competition between the landy and the yank?

I'm going:

Escort 0-1 AX

Landy 1-0 yank

P.s literally just edited that as the AX looks a bit special.

Difficult to say, are we talking overall turnover or profit? All of these cars cost vastly different amounts to purchase.

That's an interesting answer because I'd expect competitions with high ticket sales to be the same ones as those with high prize purchase cost? I'll admit to having had a look at your entry lists once and being impressed with the number of tickets you sell for the more desirable cars.

More expensive car doesn't really equate to more profit and multiplying ticket price by tickets sold is pretty much meaningless when there are so many other variables eating into potential profits, transaction fee, payment processing fee, paid advertising, ticket bundles, delivery costs as well ass all of the other general overheads of running something like this.

Yeah I get all that and frankly I'm about as interested in all your business overheads as you'd be if I told you about mine! I was just saying that I'd assumed there would be some kind of correlation between value of a car and number of tickets sold.

Obviously some cars are going to cost you more than others to prepare them for raffling and other things but that's your business, my musing really wasn't that deep. The only thing I give a shit about is that there's another popular business trading within the shite universe so long may it continue to bring you success old chap :)

Cheers, It's difficult to predict what will actually be popular, some things just fail to capture the imagination of people and no amount of money spent on paid ads will make people want it.

That's part of the fun for me, finding oddball stuff and seeing if anything really is too shite to raffle. I never do all that well on trials bikes but it's a bit of a niche market.

There are cars that are almost guaranteed to be big sellers and for the most part it doesn't matter if it's the sporty or poverty spec model.

I just buy stuff that interests me, have a play with it and move it on. Of course I'd like to make some money whilst doing so but most of the time I'm happy to free up the space for more stuff coming in.

Me too, I'm happy not having to get a "real" job for as long as I can do this.

The Merc will definitely be getting a couple of tickets from me.  Would royally screw up my plans if I won it, but they're well out of my budget despite being very much on my wishlist...

I think the current stock is just about the best it's ever been; usually I like some more than others but I'd love to have a go in pretty much any of the vehicles on the list currently.

Audi 20vt lump. The 309 has around 300bhp iirc.

S3 escort looks mega. Tickets purchased

309 is also spot on. Ive seen that in the flesh before and its a decent motor.

Also the 309 GTI is pretty good, perhaps actually faster than the Escort turbo but saying that I've only driven the Escort in the wet and it's difficult to keep traction.
