DodgyBastard Posted April 29, 2020 Author Posted April 29, 2020 If I do end up with it I'd be making it look as standard as possible, steel wheels etc. LightBulbFun, Tenmil Socket, MorrisItalSLX and 3 others 6
cobblers Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Definitely the way forward, 4x100 will have loads of steel wheels easy available that you can put decent tyres on. I love surprising people in my works caddy van - 192bhp but it looks like a base model 75bhp one. Great fun

DodgyBastard Posted April 30, 2020 Author Posted April 30, 2020 I really should get an award for dodgiest used car salesman of the year, during lockdown I've managed to sell quite a few cars including cars that don't actually belong to me... I sold this for £600 RJC_4268 by srblythe, on Flickr RJC_4275 by srblythe, on Flickr This for £600 IMG_0627 by srblythe, on Flickr This for £600 RJC_3979 by srblythe, on Flickr This for £150 IMG_0392 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_0391 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_0390 by srblythe, on Flickr All of these cars were owned by other people and I didn't actually make any money from selling them... These were mine.. I sold this for £600 IMG_0393 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_0395 by srblythe, on Flickr I raffled this for £1100 DSC_0405 by srblythe, on Flickr Sold this for £500 IMG_0225 by srblythe, on Flickr Part exchanged this plus £1k RJC_4407 by srblythe, on Flickr For this IMG_0206 by srblythe, on Flickr I bought a scrap Chevette for £700 RJC_4822 by srblythe, on Flickr and ended up chopping it up and probably only making £300 from the parts I sold off. RJC_4897 by srblythe, on Flickr It's funny, people must be looking at my fire sale thinking I'm selling up because I'm skint but at this moment I think I have more in the bank than I've ever had and I'm still being paid in full from work... I've just been enjoying having a clear out. adw1977, BlankFrank, Brodders and 18 others 21

DodgyBastard Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 A couple of new arrivals today, first up a 2.5 tdi Audi A6 on 230k, drives well and has the 6 speed box for ultimate fuel economy. It was covered in dog hair and mud in the back and had about 20 air fresheners stuffed into various places. We vacuumed the majority of the hair and chucked out the air fresheners and didn't seem to bad inside. IMG_2824 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2827 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2828 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2833 by srblythe, on Flickr It has a v6 from a Vectra under the bonnet and goes very well. dome, Mrs6C, paulplom and 19 others 22
Mrs6C Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 In your Saab 99 GL Super Auto video, there is what looks like a piece of narrow-gauge railway track and a building with a series of doorways with rails going into some of them. What were they? Was that an internal rail system for the mine complex or is it somewhere/something else?
bramz7 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I really like that Audi. Still miss my (more or less identical) old one.
HMC Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Also love the Audi. I remember reading a 1990s Parker’s guide as a teenager and seeing the separate used pricing for the model with (6) at the end of the designation. SIX speeds. I was in awe* * pathetic but true

Mrcento Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 That Nova looks lovely. Reminds me a little bit of an Astravan i tried to buy about 10 years back, was gold, lowered, had a 3.0 v6 from an Omega under the bonnet, cracking thing. Cheapest insurance i could get on it was 6 grand a year, so that was that. paulplom and BlankFrank 2
J-T Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 I’ve got a right lob on for that Audi, what’s the intel on it? I remember seeing Nova V6s in mags back in the day and thinking they must feel like the engine is trying to escape at full chat. How is it?
Mr_Bo11ox Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Ive always found that once you pass a dozen or so air fresheners, the laws of diminishing returns mean the next 10 or 20 fresheners are really a waste of time Skizzer, somewhatfoolish, stonedagain and 1 other 1 3
They_all_do_that_sir Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Watched the Nova V6 video - that thing shifts! You'll be putting your tyre machine to regular use by the looks of things Sent from my TA-1012 using Tapatalk

The Audi is just being used as a bland anonymous car I won't particularly stand out in. It runs fine and everything seems to work apart from the full beam. It's had a Volvo fuel pump fitted when the original one broke, I'm not sure what difference it makes to performance. The Nova is hilariously quick, there's already a queue of people asking me to sell it but I wan't to at least mot it and use it for a week before selling. J-T 1
bramz7 Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 Volvo engine is the same tune so should be more or less the same. They were available as 115bhp and 140bhp in the Audi, yours is the latter.
DodgyBastard Posted May 6, 2020 Author Posted May 6, 2020 Nova has found a new home already! IMG_2887 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2872 by srblythe, on Flickr It must have been sold too cheap! paulplom, BlankFrank, The Moog and 2 others 5
DodgyBastard Posted May 7, 2020 Author Posted May 7, 2020 Anyway, a small amount of progress has been made on the Chevette (for those not following the videos). I got all of the welding and painting done on the front end and got the wings and front panel fitted. IMG_2919 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2920 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2924 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2925 by srblythe, on Flickr IMG_2926 by srblythe, on Flickr I have new headlights and bumpers still to fit but there's not much point in doing so until it's painted. I haven't decided whether to keep it blue or respray it another colour like black. A darker colour might hide the shonky welding... It still has a bit of welding to finish then needs a new engine, gearbox and steering rack and it will be a lot closer to an mot. phil_lihp, BlankFrank, paulplom and 15 others 18
