Six-cylinder

While hosting Shitefest 2016 I have neglected to update my own thread and have failed to even tell the big stories like I have bought the Ex breadvan Daimler Sovereign S1 after its brake failure.

It is currently with the Milton Keynes Jaguar specialist having it brake master cylinder and servo reconditioned.

Now that gives me WOOD. Fantastic.

I will just add a set of raised digit Tippers number plates would look even better fitted to it.

Wow, just WOW!

Silly question, I have a dim childhood memory of being ferried to cubs (circa 1978) in one of these.

Did they have a 3 speed manual? or am I an unreliable witness.

C matic was 3 speed manual shift, no clutch pedal, but torque converter.

Mine started life as 1015cc 4 speed manual and is now fitted with a 1299cc and 5 speed manual, which gives it adequate performance on today's roads.

If anyone needs a set of those Pallas wheel trims my mechanic friend says that he has two full sets in his garage for sale.

What a lovely evening drive last night, even driving my Sherpa Coupe!

100 mile round trip for a local MG Car club meet in Pinner, with the sunroof folded back and the sky still light when I returned past 11pm.

In other news:

The ZX has slit its power steering reservoir and is leaking fluid badly, Mrs Cyl got it home and I have ordered a s/h one off ebay.

Mrs Cyl needed another car for today and selected the MX5 but I have lost the keys after I moved it out of the way on Monday. Trouble is I have a spare key but not a spare imobilizer tag.

Mrs Cyl 2nd selection was the Alfa 156, that had a flat battery so I put it on charge overnight. While I was out last night I remembered the 156 also has a tyre that loses a 1lb a day and it has been parked for 10 days, so at 7am this morning in my dressing gown I pumped the tyre up for her, trouble was my lady next door neighbour caught me while walking her dog!

I will be at Earls Barton, Northampton Classic show tonight from 5pm, probably with the GS.

Good news, my friend has found the MX5 keys where I left them on the bonnet of the 2CV all night!

Oh yes I left the folding sunroof open in the dark on the MGB GT all night as well, after carefully locking the car.

We have managed a bit more to the GS today:

Sills painted black instead of body colour

Missing trim fitted to n-s rear door

Radio blanking plate fitted

Tar removed from new exhaust tailpipe

Tyres dressed

This is the photo that made me black the sills, put the missing trim on and clean the tail pipe instead of working today!

I had to move the GS this morning so took a couple more pictures while I was on the drive.

Note - now with black sills, door trim fitted and exhaust tail pipe cleaned.

Not nearly brown ENOUGH!.................................'Tis a lovely thing........I used to have a blue estate, mostly constructed out of newspaper, mesh, and fibreglass.......................I seem to recall that the engine fell out of it..............

New flavour for today, Visas I have put my E reg 17RD away and I have got out my Special Twin. Yes that is a downgrade from 60 bhp to 30 bhp! The plan is to take it to the Citroen National rally near Peterborough on Saturday to meet up with 2 other Visa Twins.
