Slowsilver Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Another fun day of tinkering.More achieved than anticipated despite numb fingers and hailstones.Nice to meet Andyrew, who did sterling work on the Alfa with the aid of several large hammers.Sorry to see he had trouble getting home.I have also contributed another pair of wheel ramps to Six-cylinder's proposed borrow/loan/adopt/rehome scheme which are now languishing in the field with some new friends. If anyone needs a pair, he is now your man.Looking forward to the next one, which will hopefully be a tad warmer. Six-cylinder Posted March 18, 2019 Author Posted March 18, 2019 Here’s a South American import in Ireland for £7750. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1085211 Looks like a dealer trying is luck asking twice what the car is likely to fetch.
ianbmw Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Why would you want to buy a fully operational vehicle? That's just spoiling the fun! Sent from my SM-A530F using Tapatalk
Andyrew Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 An fka1000 thottle cable is 1.714mtrs long apparently.

Six-cylinder Posted March 18, 2019 Author Posted March 18, 2019 Brilliant! I hope the cosmetics can be left as is, interesting and very 1986! This year it will certainly be run as it is. And that includes the replacement door! Burnside, egg, richardthestag and 11 others 14
HMC Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Do the festival of the un exceptional frown on “patina”? Great candidate IMO. Also haven’t you had cars borrowed by film companies? What with the different coloured door and general patina etc it would be perfect for something set in the 1980s Burnside, Six-cylinder, Brodders and 1 other 4
BeEP Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 I like the way you've colour coded the arch to match the door MorrisItalSLX and Mrs6C 2

Six-cylinder Posted March 20, 2019 Author Posted March 20, 2019 Today's Drive shot, I am feeling pretty pleased as everything you see is legal and works. After a long and torturous time with the Cadillac not working because of a worn gear cable selector bush and then a MOT fail it is now all sorted with a fresh MOT. The Allegro ground to a halt on the drive and would not restart, turns out to have run out of petrol showing 1/4 tank. richardmorris, tooSavvy, RobT and 18 others 21

ianbmw Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Lucky I didn't chop it off with something from the Mercedes tool kit! Sent from my SM-A530F using Tapatalk richardmorris 1
richardmorris Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Yea, thanks Ian, you were a great help. I don’t like blood! All the rest of the family are biologists- I went into chemistry.
richardmorris Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 Even better an hour later. Repairing faster than the Alfa anyway Mrs6C 1
Mrs6C Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 ^^^ As long as you don't need to use that digit's fingerprint for accessing your mobile device, you'll be fine... ianbmw and DSdriver 2

Six-cylinder Posted March 24, 2019 Author Posted March 24, 2019 Turweston Airfield car show today and after the failure to proceed to Mike's burger bar last year its first outing just 16 miles. I have still got to get home! LightBulbFun, Asimo, RayMK and 9 others 12
Six-cylinder Posted April 1, 2019 Author Posted April 1, 2019 A clue for an upcoming car job? Strange thing it was significantly cheaper to buy it in Holland including shipped than buying it in the UK. Even the time to get it too me was very reasonable, I ordered it Wednesday evening and it is with me Monday morning. Thanks to richardmorris for steering me to the correct one for my car. Bfg Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 ^ you cheated ..you read the bright orange packaging tape as being from 'Burton 2cv parts'
