beko1987 Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 My day has been rapidly changed thanks to gareths exhaust not turning up... Mums picking Child1 up in the morning, and my rough plan is to wander over at lunchtime for a few hours, then return Saturday morning (can I leave my tools there on Friday to save me having to get them out Saturday morning?) Mrs6C 1
Six-cylinder Posted March 29, 2018 Author Posted March 29, 2018 (can I leave my tools there on Friday to save me having to get them out Saturday morning?) Any Easter spanners made of chocolate will be eaten! beko1987 1

beko1987 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Thanks Bollox! Buckingham is the accepted 'close enough' location (sub 4 miles from Buckingham tesco) I think, sure Chris will pm you when he sees this.

Six-cylinder Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 I'm leaving in a sec! Amys gone out, I've packed the car, just need to grab some lunch and baccy en route! Chris are you there in an hour? I can be, but why not swing by the house and then timing is not important?
Six-cylinder Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 Planning on coming over tomorrow, weather permitting.Any odd automotive jobs need doing there? We could do with moving the red Herald convertible and it has a rear brake locked solid, it would be good to free it up. Why has the Alfa Giulietta got no spark?
Slowsilver Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Why has the Alfa Giulietta got no spark? I don't know. Why has the Alfa Giulietta got no spark? Because it's Italian.Boom! Boom! Mrs6C, chaseracer and Six-cylinder 3
richardmorris Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I don't know. Why has the Alfa Giulietta got no spark? Because it's Italian.Boom! Boom! I was trying to come up with a witty line and you beat me to it! Mrs6C 1
Slowsilver Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 We could do with moving the red Herald convertible and it has a rear brake locked solid, it would be good to free it up. Large hammer not required. You have a JCB.
Six-cylinder Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 Large hammer not required. You have a JCB. I have tried the large hammer without success so it is a wheel off and remove brake shoes job.
beko1987 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I have a can of plus gas we can empty into it...
Six-cylinder Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 In spite of the rain Beko and I got the Rover in position today. First we put the Laguna to work pulling the Xantia out of the way so the Range Rover was not trapped. Pulling the 75 with the Range Rover was not difficult, but for Beko steering the 75 with a pair of grips because there was no wheel, while sitting on the floor not being able to see out was more of a challenge! All ready for tomorrow now. Split_Pin, DVee8, Dirk Diggler and 6 others 9
Supernaut Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Mmmm that is a lovely Xantia. Is that your V6 one or another one?
beko1987 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Steering a rover 75 with water pump pliers whilst sitting on the floor pan was certainly an experience! Added sweat factor as I had to avoid the Triumph Herald alongside! richardmorris and Bucketeer 2
Six-cylinder Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 Mmmm that is a lovely Xantia. Is that your V6 one or another one? It is ours but needs a gearbox.
Split_Pin Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 That's a brilliant mental image of the 75 driving position!
beko1987 Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 That's a brilliant mental image of the 75 driving position!Ill take a picture of the view tomorrow! Turning hard lock was fun, I had to reposition the grips when they hit the a pillar! Split_Pin 1
purplebargeken Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Yeah, he has the latest one but there have been a couple prior to that and the reg looks a bit familiar, but I could well be wrong Split_Pin 1
Fat_Pirate Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 I regret to inform you that it was yours, Ken. This is a better way to go than just getting fragged, which was nearly it's fate though.
purplebargeken Posted March 30, 2018 Posted March 30, 2018 Ah, thought I recognised the reg. Glad it's been put to some use though
