I only passed on the handbooks, proper key and fuse removing tool... The shocks are still in my parents garage (I forgot to pick them up at Christmas) and I can't remember where the other paperwork is! I'll find it all and get it to you at some point.

Another Volvo brick drives to Scotland - There is some normality going on here at least what with;

Me in a Merc

Partridge in an 820 Sterling (usually MY territory)

Cort16 in a big Purple Merc

Vulgalour in a Corsa (usually Corsaviour's territory)

PeteM in a diesel

So yeah, it's good to see some normality for a change.

Any update? Do you lights or are you staying at Tebay until dawn?

The Mrs spotted a Volvo 945 the other day at Tesco, and it was facing north. Its the SVM magnetism!

2316 - Home!!!!!!!!

I type this as I finally get to lie down in bed at home after dropping Paul and Adrian off at Chez cms206 to get their own cars home. Full writeup in the offing.

Put the fog lights on and just let the headlights do their thing. On / off at random all the way home through a whiteout on the M74 near Beattock. I can hear a relay clicking away while it does it so will investigate further. Relay panel is loose and the included Haynes book had the wiring diagrams removed for easy reading so someone has been at it already.

Dead instrument and control illumination was a fuse. Bought some. Blew them. On the collection the seatbelt buckle light was out. This went out with the cluster lights - managed to replace it securely in the buckle with much fettling. Seems to be the cause of the short - ground on the seat frame.

Good to see another one's been assimilated for the cause, they don't suspect a thing south of the border, do they? ;)

How is it apart from the typical "Alfa of the north" electrics? Look forward to the main feature.

^ It's rather pleasant from a passenger point of view. Especially when you're asleep...

I have just arrived home too, having passed through more OMGSNOKAOS on the M8.

Well done guys and well done Volvo for doing that massive journey. Looking forward to the writeup.

I've been watching the Volvo's migration into Scotland for a while now on here, and as a Volvo fan myself I'm starting to worry that I'll never be able to get another down here!

Please, SVM, leave some for us, south of the border!

You're pretty safe. We only venture any major distance for something a bit special. My 740 came from Surrey 'cos it was, and still is, minted. The red 960 came from Cardiff 'cos it was rare having a cloth interior and cheap. The grey 960 was high spec and prefacelift so not that special. Naturally that one came from Inverkeithing - I could have went to get it using only my Stagecoach UK Bus staff pass but rml2345 gave me a lift. Done in an afternoon. This latest purchase is somewhat special - a facelift (unusual but not rare) 760 (rare enough) with the 2.3 Turbo Intercooled B230ET engine (pretty rare) and a ZF auto box (pretty rare attatched to the B230ET)

In Other News...

Just awaiting photos from rml2345 before the writeup begins.
