Nice to see that some of the Scottish vehicles caught on cam are known to others on here, ta for the feedback, makes it so much more interesting when there's something of a "history" to a spot.

 

Here's wot else I has been doing ai. We went to the half centenary b-day bash of some A35-based BMC roadster thing and Mk2_C ate lots of cake. DC has documented the less dull exhibits inside the museum recently so I thought I'd see if there was anything of note lurking.

Dutch-reg CF had a very new looking body, over here it's the other way round, bin your old Bedford chassis and bosh the 1974 body onto some E-reg Freight Rover 400 ex-tipper.

Pretty much so yes, some sort of perverse desire to turn an ordinary functional cramped van with 998cc donkey into a slightly warmed over van with faux 1275 Cooper donkey. Bit like Fords XRV van, only made up by mini owners, who in about 20 years will be returning their vans to stock, as is/ will be the next whim.

I do like those old Mercs but gotta say what's behind looks even more interesting! Wish you'd snapped the old C Series ERF & even older style Merc lorry too! They must be in a yard or part of a collection? (either that or Scotland has the oldest working lorries in the country! I miss old lorries on the road....)

Cool! Besides the fact it's a special electric vehicle, it has the look of a pre MkII CF prototype judging by the half MkI half MkII look it has & the V reg would make it right there at the end of the CF MkIs as the MkII came in at W reg I believe. Love the 'styled by Avon' Lotus Sunbeam colour scheme too! 8)

I think with the CF it's a half-arsed attempt to make it look a bit futuristic because as we all know electric vehicles are the future and we'll all be driving them in around 30 years time in 2008.....It is very cool though 8)

Love the old Merc - the ones with the stepped side windows are pretty uncommon indeed nice local reg too.

 

Escort is unusual in not have been Barried oot its nut by now too eh? Me likes!

 

I've been trying to snap the Beemer for months, it drives along Dalry Road at the same time every day as I'm walking to the train station, driven by a young bloke too not old giffer!

Mk2 Tranny - I recognise the reg! This used to languish in a housing estate next to the railway line on the way into Edinburgh on the Glasgow Shuttle line. I wondered where it went. Where is it now?

 

Its former stablemate, E944 SOV, a MK2 Transit minibus, still lauguishes under CPTC, along with an old American van (another CPTC) and a modern Merc SPrinter. I am guessing he kept the E-reg one on account of it being an extremely late model Mk2?

 

Love the Ailsa - I remember these in their Edinburgh heyday in the 90's, augmented by some former Clydeside TSJ-S examples. I used to ride on 2 HSF-X examples in Glasgow when they were transferred there in their twillight years :D

Yep thats the one - although it has patches of primer in many places lol!I live within Horsburghs operating area - I'll need to look out for that 02-plater! Must have sat in the coachworks for ages before being registered or something

Sparingly used these days; he has a selection of more modern Hondas for daily duties. The saloons are still in the same ownership; one a fairly decent red high-spec Hondamatic job, the other a basket case beige manual example of sparser trim level.

Christ, that Audi and that Mk2 Cav are early ones. I'm amazed both have survived at all - the Cav as they have a reputation for eventually getting eaten by the tinworm (as everything does); the Audi 'cos it wasn't until '85 that they actually galvanised the bodies. Superb period colours too.

The green lorry looks like a Commer or Karrier to me - might even be 2-stroke.That Big Bedford floats my Boat a lot, as does the early Audi 100 - I didnt know these started at 'y'.
