Daihatsu Terios: gen me up, please...

I REALLY want to take this to a local 'pay and play' 4x4 place, just for a laugh.

Pleeez rattle-can it in Camel Trophy livery first and turn up wearing full khaki combat gear.

Drove one of these very briefly for someone who went to look at one. Found it very bouncy, quite heavy and vague on the steering and felt it was a bit shite really beyond the small 4x4 novelty factor. Unsurprisingly living in Ayr it was utterly rotten, so naturally they bought it.

Verdict; Bin after the novelty has worn off.

I'm hoping to be lucky enough to get it back as it is then get another say 30 miles out of it, then it won't matter. I could tow it to the off road place (if it hasn't blown up by then) I suppose, but that's a bit of a faff, really.

My finger is hovering over the 'Scrap it now' button, but I'd like to at least drive it once, even if it's only 5 bloody miles.

That would be 4 9/10's of a mile too far. Burn it.

Think they are good off road. There was the newer one on top gear a few years back, was good off road. Hope it makes it home.

Pro-Tow LTD, how can I help?

I take it the Terios was worse than expected if it was dragged behind a Vectra.

I bought a proper* tow pole thing (£23.99, MachineMart) but there wasn't anything to connect it to, so we used two tow ropes instead. The tinsel one wasn't needed until about 1.5 miles away when the other one fell off.

*Edit: didn't want to knacker it up by driving it, Chris, 'just in case.' We had it running on tickover and it sounds ok until you give it a boot full then you can hear the knock. The jury is out as to whether I lash out actual cash money on thick oil and STP, then off road it, or I just weigh it off. I think there's some fun to be had out of first, though, so we'll see what happens.
