Ha, small world. That's on my regular circular "see what old rammle I spot" lunchtime walking route when I'm in the office.

Few more. This is about 6 months' worth of spots, which is fairly tragic. Where have all the old cars gone?

I spoke to the owner of this, can't remember the whole story but he's had it since it was nearly new and it's totally original and unrestored. It was an absolute minter, a real credit to him

20241103_145537.jpg.35fcdf38c8fc0b03993b3ef58645fa38.jpg

Just through pure scarcity these are staring to look smei-interesting. Squishy seats and trim rattles are an underrated combo

Extremely passive, parked outside the pub next to my office and I know the person who owns it

And finally, a stand-out at the Goodwood carpark recently

I think I've cracked the code. It's not that there aren't any old cars around anymore, it's just if you never go anywhere or do anything you don't see them. Turns out, if you do actually go outside every now and then you will probably see some old cars.

This 205 was from my last trip to France. Jealous of his wheels, if nothing else.

Jag coupé in central Brighton recently. Nice and rough when you start looking at it

I've seen a huge number of this generation of Polos recently, although I haven't managed to photograph any. In fact I saw one this morning. I think they're breeding

Better class of supermarket car park spot. I've seen a few of these recently, but none when I've been driving mine

This absolute beauty appeared on my commute recently. I love 142s and 242s and I'm surprised more people haven't imported them over the years. Absolutely brilliant colour, too. Just a lovely thing (except the number plates, obviously).

20250715_180047.jpg.0c7d1779df0e984f032d353046f30637.jpg

Very ropey, when you look closely, which is brilliant. I think the elderly owner also has a Mk1 2000 saloon whch I've been hoping to snap for ages

20250715_183747.jpg.1a997592681383c31ba64797e8550553.jpg

Some actually quite nice cars

I suspect this is one I photographed years and years ago (maybe even twice) but figured it was worth documenting just in case

20250717_103656.jpg.762cf13173f31d8cf570c92ad24d892b.jpg

Right, best of the lot now. Firstly this absolutely fuggin' brilliant 205 Rallye. No idea if it's real or not but I don't care, it looked bob-on

20250714_160751.jpg.3b3e2a8b47f1823f09f96d1b72436499.jpg

20250714_160801.jpg.b8af5b00048e72627803f3ca7122d451.jpg

and finally, a STANZA! Yes, a real live Stanza. With a Xedos in front of it! I drove past about an hour or so later and this had gone, so it's mobile and in use. Lovely stuff

20250715_174523.jpg.931c56e3128890c6b5da7eab1038bf53.jpg

That's all for now

Lovely pair of Jeeps at a certain cafe on the A12 - thought I recognised the car park - nice food but a little pricey

...give me a clue on the Beetle location - again, sadly, I recognise the car park...

That Stanza is mega! Not seen one in years.

MOT’d until Feb 26 so definitely in use.
MOT history isn’t too bad either. Mostly bullshitty advisories, and silly stuff. Bit of crispy-ness to the sills and floor pan by the sounds of it though.

Here's a few more for ya, starting with a Saab

20250810_131925.jpg.d297959a2505d8e6d31cb64e65aa2bbe.jpg

Another (partial) Swede in London. where is that plate from, though?

20250809_123005.jpg.24fce7be4c43a01254b84c8345e4f690.jpg

A couple of horseboxes. The LT looked amusingly stubby

DULL 80s cars (I got pretty excited when I saw the Civic)

20250822_191418.jpg.29a68fb00bcd5552a1f59c8934df563b.jpg

A walk round Shoreham netted these (I don't think this is one of the Corvairs I've previously spotted but I could be wrong)

20250718_185155.jpg.104716c71d6c467bc3315e1fe00d31c6.jpg

And finally, the 'old car parking' at a wedding I went to recently

Looks like the current format for French registration marks, but someone has had the plates made in one of the old size British fonts. Don’t know if there is an online French reg checker?

Oh gods!  that Corvair, and that Ami Super!!!

Give me an Ami 6 and a Tatra 603 and I'll die happy.

It is a French registration: https://immatriculation-auto.info/en/vehicle/GA419FD, but the car itself appears to be wearing custom-made plates.  God only knows why.

A couple more from yesterday; this Kia has taken a really serious hit and seems to have been left as a sort of warning to others not to park on this dicey corner

Lovely 164

The sun came out today so I cruised round for some more, starting ith a different Volvo (shit plates, yep)

20250831_121459.jpg.d6e02111c39a60213e1c1d24c28e43fe.jpg

And a boxed-in 405. This is on in a line-up of cars on a bombsite dealer's but it doesn't appear to be for sale, sadly

20250831_122935.jpg.d808b55d51f31a08f665e2431581bf42.jpg

An extremely pleasant sight this morning on Brighton seafront – looked absolutely mint

Pony hoarder

20250831_125416.jpg.f294982cca5121fcaeda94643c8e1722.jpg

This must've been the same owner – again, brilliant condition and a great colour. S1 V8s look brilliant I reckon

20250831_125347.jpg.c1aa1ab778654327a2abd4cfaea714b5.jpg

On the same street but unconnected... ridiculously clean but I suspect not enthusiast-owned

20250831_125455.jpg.69c756047fffad0dc7803f5db549881e.jpg

A bit different and a little sad

20250831_124448.jpg.3ed8078bfcd0ab21d5453d5ea3fdeb28.jpg

20250831_124502.jpg.68177e00981b4a2217030ffd12bc12d8.jpg

Great to see things of this age just parked up and festering but I assume it means the owner is no longer able to drive them. On the drive is their 'modern' which is boxing in another couplwe of prewar things

20250831_124521.jpg.692d18e16a144c8364c8fe0890a8fb39.jpg

And then.... this. I was thinking about these lots on Friday, wondering if there are any on the road in this country and trying to find evidence of one in preservation, regreting not buying the very cheap one that was on ebay a couple of years ago (it's the only Ford that I would want to own and one of my favourite 60s designs)

20250831_125739.jpg.e7216426f84ad6f80e57436d5cb2b980.jpg

Yeah, turns out there's one just down the road from me? I guess I manifested it into existance. Probably my favourite spot ever!

It's difficult to tell because it's full of crap, but I don't think so, so even sadder it's ended up in that state after somebody has gone to the trouble of importing it – but I suppose it could've been here for 50 years. I've been trying to find the 1970s photo I have of a UK-reg'd Bathtub to check if that's RHD or not but I can't find it at the moment

Here's my Winter 25/26 Collection. Obvously not loads about at this time of year. The first lot are frm the London-Brighton Run day at Staplefield, which always turns into an impromptu car show with various interesting things dotted about. Not quite legit spots, but we'll take what we can.

20251102_131632.jpg.7b546ba029acd26e9a93f8a9b48f1905.jpg

Always liked these Razor-Edge K-Gs. I don't think the front is particularly well-resolved but from the rear 3/4 it's the best looking car VW ever built, for sure

20251102_133525.jpg.d013f4e05fc45edafd2a8460dcf84a41.jpg

Always nice to see a well-kept Mult in the wild

20251102_133644.jpg.17eda6c81a6157f5df3b08a948e5d293.jpg

20251102_132212.jpg.47c7b3914fc29e5e2d68d6baee399f95.jpg

This Crab was superb. Difficult to tell if it was black or very dark purple, but the red interior really set it off. I've still never driven one but they're definitely high on my list of British cars I'd actually want to own

20251102_132445.jpg.4ec30a607246da8731b47b31b9e21d6b.jpg

I was hoping to park mine next to this for a photo but it disappeared before I got the chance

20251102_133440.jpg.36810f203c4dc3db85efe17486cbf564.jpg

I know these have been rehabilitated now, but I have to say looking inside it seemed like such a miserable place to spend time. Lots of brittle plastics and surprisingly cramped

20251102_133110.jpg.597f307ac1badbd25d4f9ebc01d7617b.jpg

Quite a good thing for European holidays, I'd say

20251102_132753.jpg.e11227aa269c0d791241f436336b2b15.jpg

20251102_132734.jpg.37f2725b4146c1e30b11e94ea7ca90bb.jpg

I've only seen one of these once before, and thinking about it it may well be the same car, but this was still a very welcome sight. If you're gonna have an MGB it should be one of these, really

20251116_161305.jpg.2fad81c34123b440b84c88707c717d32.jpg

Textbook London street furniture

This less so

20251005_132150.jpg.6ac797c10967b8fe916b1e18fb6e3e9b.jpg

Not my bag AT ALL, but here it is

IMG-20251018-WA0003.jpg.625b12bea03b30bbc952f4a88192663b.jpg

This, on the other hand, was lovely. One of my favourite American cars and this was in perfect condition – just a little scruffy round the edges but still smart

20251127_133951.jpg.7365c485ab3ae12cc906dbb510fc8e72.jpg

American theme continues. Aren't these quite sought-after?

20251127_130710.jpg.7b80fde8af18eb556bd9bb918a51f436.jpg

Nothing to say

20251127_130458.jpg.2ffb7abf60e7af454a34be8764e7b2dc.jpg

I think this is enthusiast-owned and, while I don't like them, it did look very smart

20251127_130832.jpg.6924fc188bd120b75f9b1b8d4608ff27.jpg

careworn Volvo looking just as it should

20260104_123938.jpg.f0e5de7268d50ca09c1693b1ec379a14.jpg

This was taken this morning. Nice to see a G40 in fairly standard shape

20260104_130747.jpg.393af798eb5a7d4926101a77a3cfc1f3.jpg

And finally for now, a slightly mouldy P4 which doesn't seem to move from this spot.

Happy new year, may your 2026 be filled with Tagoras and XMs

20260128_102237.jpg.7fc83f6f3c007ee74a9205338055d11d.jpg

this has been here for 12 years at least but I'm usually on a tram when I go by. Nice to finally get a shot of it – it's now, I think, the only car of this age I know about in this neighbourhood, which was teeming with 80s and 90s stuff when I first started going to this show. Sad.

Back in Blighty with a collection of absolute dogshit photos, so apologies in advance.

20260318_092352.jpg.68cf22e1eeae64a4aef3024679ab6e9f.jpg

LIKE these. You'd hope owners of Alpines would be a bit more vibrant & cool than this, though

20260329_131102.jpg.b72762e8fa4fba49be8573d9f0323391.jpg

amazed this photo came out – on a verge somewhere, maybe near Hereford?

20260401_181612(1).jpg.a5149e444fe5023d8ab30cbc5f8b2195.jpg

Was hopig I'd get a better shot of this but this'll have to do. Nice to see stuff actually being driven round now the weather's a bit better innit?

20260403_174114.jpg.b24fff7c8a9062b2767877b3c062fe94.jpg

20260403_174125.jpg.2ecd7c36f10aef77bd87aac1e7e82c63.jpg

Not being driven round, sadly. I don't think this has actually been here very long, which goes to show how quickly old cars can start to look neglected. Woder what the issue is?

Absolutely love this, which I've seen from a distance a couple of times doing 'truck stuff' as intended, but I discovered by chance that it lives a few minutes from my house. Shit photos still, sorry

20260406_170517.jpg.69c1bf46ef6adde31ed30b8644fe01ce.jpg

This (on the right) looked like a giant version of that already quite big Dinky toy. Fuel prices will, no doubt, allow future historians to date this image quite precisely
