Lancia Y10 trusted Shiter loan or sale £600

It would be the choke light on lowlier models. Redundant due to fuel injection.

The cutting out when cold is a new one in me. You may want to try turning the distributor very slightly to adjust the timing, or there is a mixture screw for the throttle body visible at the top if the manifold, give this a slight twiddle as I think it was adjusted for the mot, just make a note or mark where it is now so it can go back in place for emissions on next years mot.

Astonishing Lancia clever design moment!

Nipped out to fire up the Lancia this morning - Vroom as per normal, but the headlights came on as some Pillock* had left them on overnight - but they'd gone off with the ignition. Completely off, no sidelights, nothing. Given the idiotic twisty on off stick thing, that was a very good idea.

That's a Fiat thing. If you need sidelights without the key being in or the ignition on, pop the key in the barrel, depres the odd-shaped little button on the barrel and turn the key the wrong way. Lights come on, and you can take the key out too!

Bloody Hell, I wondered what the little button was for, but I'd never have thought of that!

Glad you had a chuckle with the little motor Chris, and as has been said many times previously on here, it's great to meet another petrol head nutter in the flesh and turn a virtual friend into a proper one.

Oooops! Mind you, I'd have noticed if I left the lights actually on as I gave it at least one longing look as I walked back to yours to hand the key over! I'm used to my VX lights going fully off on the key, in winter (dark to work and dark home) I just leave them on.

Very nice to meet you too Dave. I'll be back over to borrow the Porsche soon, and then the camper :-D

Additional. Just been reading up on the Y10 on Wikipedia, and noticed that their illustrative picture looks rather.... familiar.

I'll have to try that on my Alfa tomorrow!

Yep, Fiat thing

Trouble is you get so used to it you run batteries down on other motors!

Right - Red 5 has had to drop out of the old trusted shiter scheme because of un-foreseen circumstances.

I'm guessing that a wife about to give birth isn't particularly keen on having an additional old car about the place.

So, I have no idea who is next, who is still on the list or what happens next.

The car is in Castle Donington, the very centre of the country and needs to be moved on to it's next keeper.

If you're interested, let me know, let Phil the owner know and 'ole red can hurtle it's enthusiastic way a bit further around the country.

It's just £120 and I can pick you up from Railway stations at Loughborough, Derby or East Midlands Parkway.

They do look like fun little motors, like a pretty Cinq. Had a razz around in a friends sporting and fell in love with the whole thing.

If I didn't have the distinct impression that upon an impact, it'd fold like a newspaper in the wind, I'd daily one. Prices are on the up, though.

Seems this will be zipping its way further north in the near future. At this rate it'll be in Aberdeen when I get back and it'll be a right mission to get it back to Devon.

Off topic but I tried this. It does work but unfortunately the key blocks access to the little button so unless you have very small fingers it is quite a job to do it on my car.

It's looking like JohnK (from the Yorkshires) is collecting this from me next weekend.

One final week of frantic, Italian fun awaits.

...and it's all over!

John arrived with his little lorry and the Lancia was last seen heading to it's new home in the far north.

It's been a noisy and frantic couple of months.

A big thank you to John for taking the little blighter on and an even bigger thanks to Phil for trusting me with

his nutty bit of Italian mayhem!

I see the tape's been removed from the "All Vauxhalls are shit" sticker!

This car is class.

It's home and just been on a blast down the local for a swift half ... It's like being back on the go-kart track!

Right folks, just to get some kind of organisation with this, do we have any takers for this little beast after I've finished with it?

It's off to work with me in about half an hour, which should be enlightening* as I have 40 miles of dual carriageway to attend to, as opposed to urban and country roads I sampled it on last night. I'm sure this morning will determine if I can get away with it or not!

I'm reckoning on having it for 4-6 weeks and then move it on Just before Christmas - ideal opportunity to wind the missus up with a 'Christmas present' ?

I'll put my name on the list, don't know who else has their name down before. Maybe we could get a roffle type list.

Not in the market for a slice of Y10, but can't help but notice that this little Italian madam has had more Englishmen than I've had hot dinners. The little devil will be getting a reputation in a minute ;)

Is anybody interested in taking this on after me?

It may need to move on a little sooner than initially expected as I am very quickly runing out of space amongst my various area's of storage :-(

Posted

I'd love to take it on for a bit but have a space issue myself atm, if things change I'll be in touch.

Someone buy/borrow/steal my black clx panda and I can give it a home with it's sister GerTie (and not use bits off it for fault diagnosis), two bloody years waiting to drive my car and it lasts a week before doing an Italian electric thing.

It would have been ideal for Ex_Cabbage for a few days while he got sorted, I should have thought about it; John's not so far away. Loads of storage at ChezCabbage/KJ too.

He's on a collection mission as we speak, (thread below), so someone else needs to have it.
