Autoshite Community Target Thieves

After reading about Fred Transits stolen Ford Cargo I was thinking it would be a good idea for Autoshite to have a pinned thread for stolen vehicles. Also 'The Blue Forum' have a section for posting 'trailer spots' where people are taking pictures of classics on trailers or giving details of where they have seen them I think this is a great idea and we should start doing this and have a pinned thread for it.  What are your thoughts on this?

We're gonna have a whole page of pinned threads if we're not careful. Why not just pool resources and use the equivalent pages on the blue forum, the success of these things depends on lots of people using them so it makes sense to share the one on the blue forum?

People have commented in the past we had too many 'sticky' threads so we'll just see what people think, if that's ok? No harm in starting a thread for stolen vehicles though.

I agree not needed. Even the wanted, free cycle, veg oil pinned threads are unnecessary.

Yeah not sure why any other than the 'how to' and 'new members' thread need to be there. Anyone who has been on here long enough can just find owt else anyway. We can put a how to find threads in the how to thread. If someone posts up something that can be put in another thread you can point them in the right direction and it will drop off the page. At the moment its there all the time.

 

But it doesn't bother me that much TBH, happy to simply have the forum, just sayin'.

Ok so how about if we had two individual ongoing threads (not pinned) one for 'stolen vehicles' and another for 'trailer spots' that people can add to as and when (like the ebay tat one) would this be better?

I reckon you're right, maybe only have the 'help' thread sticky and let the rest just float about? I only pinned the veg oil one as we seemed to be getting a few new threads asking for advice so thought it'd help at the top of the page, but fair play if it's not wanted or needed.
