Look what the cat dragged in - Dacia Shifterossa!!!!

Renault origins so I would go with a Renault shade. I think my 1981 Renault 5 was Pimento Red. Ultimately any popular red will be good so you can get touch up kits easily.

Only the Dacia Concours judges will notice if its not quite right (and that's you and Danut) so not a major problem

I like the way the sprayer has pre-pogweasled your car! It's the perfect paint for anyone who wants to know what their new red Vauxhall is going to look like in 18 years time!

I'd send them something if I had the money just on the strength of that one picture of them washing the plastic clock part.

That's my idea of restoration. 8)

Getting closer and closer to paint, thank you for your ideas, need to decide asap

Oh god, I cant bear to look at this. Nothing lines up, the distance between the raised parts at the back of the cab is uneven and why is there a random flat square at the top of the bed.

Deep breath.....deep breath.

The random flat spot is where an inspection chamber will be formed, a flap what allows a mechanic to acces the fuel tank sender without having to dismantle the fuel tank out of the car. Yet to be done......the flat spot is created by the factory when pressing the metal into shape for the aforementioned reason

The raised parts at the back of the cab line up with the back of the new tailgate. We searched EVERYWHERE for an orginal part for the back of the can but couldn't trace one down. Bearing in mind the bed floor was found and shipped from Austraia, I think it shows just how much leg work was done. Yes the back of the cab is not original but there was nothing I could do about it apart from go to a scrap yard and cut one one, problem is every single one we found was rotted and I'd rather not put rotted metal on the truck.

It was not a criticism of the vehicle more a reflection of my own nervousness when things down line up properly. It would not have surprised me if they had been like that when they were new, it would still annoy the fook out of me not being the same as stuff like that just does with me.

An old housemate pointed out that I may have a problem as he was trying to watch Monk one Sunday afternoon but I was in his way trying to make sure that the coffee table was precisely central on the rug which was itself exactly in the middle of the floor space. The only difference between what he was seeing on telly and what I was doing is that I was not trying to solve the disappearance of a dog that would eventually spiral into an intriguing case of murder.

:)))))))))))) oh trust me, I'm a bit like that too but sometimes you just have to work with what you have. The rear cabin doesn't sit well with me either if I'm totally honest however its a small price to pay considering just how bad the body was. I could have sourced another shell, but would it have been the same car?! I just don't know.

The wheels will be completely refurbished and kept in the sams colour, white, with the red and blue stripes ;-)

Excellent......

some guys have achieved 'this', alone & with the famous 'ex MOD Filing Cabinet' steel source, in a lock up/lean 2, over 8 years - between marriages[even] - and feel the need to apologise for 'non-factory' swage imperfections in the floorpan area...... over on the IMP Club Forum (I frequent)

GR9... just what you can achieve with a 'full-on'/Go 4 It mentality.......

Pro Bodyshops do this sort of thing every day of the year.....

NOT knocking.... but, well, I wouldn't cock my leg on a BL Wedgie (looking - err - loved) in another parish ;<)

excellent, all roond..
