You're going to have the best drive back EVAH in that car. The other good news is that the car moves ever closer to Cavcraft.

Posted

I am looking forward to the drive back :-) the 2ltr 8v is one of my favourites , and these are so nice and comfy - there will be a damn sight more legroom than on this bloody train

Ah yes the grantham to norwich bit is NOT FIRST CLASS in fact its poky ....

Gotta be honest the cross country im on now is lovely. Maybe I have low standards

No collection thread would be complete without the petrol station shot :-)

But ill go one better and put the tyre pressure shot on too

All needed a bit and i wanted to make sure all was perfect since im loading it up halfway home ........

Spare is totally flat and wont take air so we'll just have to trust to lady luck there

Dave said he checked the levels and they are indeed all bang on , clean oil too. Generally clean and tidy under the bonnet too :-)

Looking good so far for £120 cavvy - good few hundred miles in front of it now though

Next stop rugby !!

Whoohoo! You did press the "flat" button on the machine didn't you? If it's got less than about 3psi it won't switch the compressor on without it.

Ah oh bollocks no lol

Anyway thats 100 miles under its belt and ive now left norfolk whoo hoo

Driving impressions are good , loads of power , long legs real mile muncher and doing good on fuel too

"The brake thing" is fully in evidence , needs a master cylinder i can sort that easy , its disconcerting but easily drive roundable once aware.

Splash and dash pit / piss stop a14 cambridge and on my way :-)

Just discovered the tape slots are full of tapes - its an 80's and 90's extravaganza - do you want those back dave ? I may well play a few .....

Excellent.  It is bloody good on fuel for a 22-year-old 2-litre petrol - reckon the tall fifth gear helps a lot.  That's quite an impressive tool cabinet!

I think they're the tapes I gave to Rob at SF14.

Good to see they are getting some use.

Yep, I left those in there for Dave as Bucketeer kindly gave me loads so i could spare a few.

Glad to see the old Cav lives on in the AS collective!

Tool cabinet £50 ebay bargain :-) in retrospect i missed out a couple of essential elements , the lack of train shot was unforgivable and i really should have a behind the wheel selfie and dashboard view as well ....not bad for a first attempt though :-)

Brilliant. Just that Rover to sell now!
