Ugly Cars Or Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder...

There's some truly hideous efforts here but howcome no one has mentioned this bug-eyed horror yet?

It hurts all the more as its predecessor was such a good looking vehicle, the ultimate in botched facelifts?

And to add something obscure, I give you the delightful arse-end of the FBS Census, a failed Elise rival from the early noughties:

Front was a bit better:

So ugly, it actually makes me like it, unlike the ghastly Lexus or Acura I've posted above.

Going back to the SSanyong Rhodus, or whatever it's called, did I hear or read somewhere that it was actually designed in the UK?

Or it could have been a bad dream....

It was designed by a Brit, Ken Greenley, who also penned the Bentley Continental R.

The New Nissan Dusterano.

FFS Nissan. Try harder than re-badging the Duster. I hate it because its such a blatant cop out and is bound to be a shit off road / towing tool. And it looks shit too.

I saw a Renault Fluence earlier, not hideously ugly like the Rodius but strange looking as I believe its basically a booted version of the current Megane and an electric motor.

Speaking of hybrids/electric cars, I think the Prius and Vauxhall Ampera are ugly as sin, and what is it with a lot of these hybrids and electric cars having wedge like shaped rear ends, both of those for example.

I really like those 1971 Fiat safety cars. :)

Certainly bearing a resemblance to the Polski-Fiat Polonez...right down to those protruding front bumpers!

Yes the Ford Scorpio is ugly - but I like it all the same. B)

I've seen quite a few of them here, what exactly does "fluence" mean? I'm sure it's an old word something to do with witchcraft, putting spells on people, casting hexes, that sort of thing. "Ahh she's putting a fluence on you."

Either that or they couldn't spell "effluent"

I've often wondered why some cars are universally accepted as beautiful,is it just a case of the emperors new clothes?

For example one of these is lauded as one of Pininfarina's most elegant saloons the othe a bland euro barge that is one of his most boring

To me, the Buick Rendezvous (stupid name!) is one of the ugliest cars of all time. Front, back, sides, all ugly.

I read this quickly as Renault Flatulence, it made me smile

Wasn't that just a rebadged Dacia Diarrhoea?

BX estate anyone? Don't get me wrong, I loved my batchhacks but for me there's something of the "meh, can't be bothered to design a proper estate, just stick a box on the back and then we can go drink wine." about them

I wouldn't try and argue that either of these were beautiful but I would be pleased to have either.

I look at the Nissan Juke and want to vomit, its just plain ugly... ;)

I mean WTF is a crossover? I guess its some thing that looks like off-road but does not work off-road, just in car parks?

Everyone I have seen is driven by an old fart too, its the new Rover 25.....

That's because there is much more profit/commission in a Joke than a new Micra (now cheapies, made in India), so giffers trading in K12 Micras are like lambs led to the slaughter. The most gullible/trusting drive out in a Leaf.

The new 'face' of Lexus is horrific, although IMHO the only good looking Lexus was the first IS200. Toyota going the wrong way as well, judging by the new Aygo and Yaris.

That Daimler is far less awkward than a certain other ,from the same stable.

Speaking of French estates, I've always like the look of these and was quite surprised when someone on here thought they were an ugly mess.

The c-pillar backwards just doesn't look right at all, much like:

Does anybody else here see the below in the C Pillar and rear light treatment?
