trigger Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 More photos folks! Today were was a show at East Mersea in Colchester in Essex, It's mostly aimed towards the Yank stuff but there's also some normal cars there too, Here's a quick photo thread of some of my highlights. This Coronet was stunning. I do love a ratty American truck. The owner of this spent most of the morning polishing it, in direct sunlight on a black car, what a mug! This chopped London Taxi was awful, God know what he was thinking when designing it! Dez and his Iveco diesel powered, Rover P2 platformed rod again. This was up for £7750! Makes my Civic look cheap! Self pimping again. This really tatty Merc 250D is apparently a running restoration... The other side was hanging just as much. This Fiat 126 was very different! This Chopped taxi on the other was in a different league to the first one. Rollin on 20"s! brickwall, eddyramrod, NorfolkNWeigh and 9 others 12
Mr_Bo11ox Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Great pics Trig!!!! Your Cortina is looking mega. trigger 1
Skoze Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I know the guy who runs that Taxi - it's brilliant*. Was built literally a s a bit of a laugh to load up with sailing gear and tow a boat behind - got a 2.8 Nissan Patrol diesel in for EXTRA POINTS. trigger 1
trigger Posted June 8, 2014 Author Posted June 8, 2014 Cheers guys, that's most kind, Whilst i was there my mate who has a 1963 Ford Fairlane V8 had left his lights on leaving his battery flat so we jumped it of my Cortina without any fuss, luckily though we found my alternator was only just hanging on! so fortunately another mate had some spanners so tightened it back up for me, phew! I took these on the way home, I love it! Bucketeer, STUNO, Shep Shepherd and 7 others 10
Shep Shepherd Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 ^ I love the look of your Cortina, Trig. It has an air of 'proud third owner, circa 1980' about it mercrocker and trigger 2
Mat.T Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Cortina looked great in the flesh! It was a great little show with an interesting variety of stuff as always! The car I kept coming back to was that MK1 Granada/Consul GT really hit the spot. I dumped my photos on the blueforumhttp://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/167350/mersea-madness-pic-dump#.U5TXcHb-tHg trigger 1
trigger Posted June 8, 2014 Author Posted June 8, 2014 Nice seeing you again Matt, I wanted to get a photo of your van but i never made it back to that corner again. Ref your RR post, I heard that there was a few classics on display at the Toyota garage a few weeks back, 80's and 90's rally cars but i didn't know about the Corona, gutted i never stopped by to take a look now!
eddyramrod Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Some lush kit there! Especially that blue Cortina, anyone know who owns it?
mercrocker Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Great pics, nice spot that place is too.... That 126 reminds me, for some reason, of the little plastic Lone Star buggies I got my mum to send off for in 1970!
EssDeeWon Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Love the red MK4 XR3i (G21 VOO) not seen one looking as tidy and original as that for a while.
vulgalour Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Green Triumph and airbrushed T-bird for me, thankyouplease.
RoadworkUK Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Didn't even know this show was going on; but I was at a wedding in Norfolk all weekend anyway. As it happens I'm pretty sure I saw a few of those semi-rat patina'd US trucks at Cringleford Services, where I indulged in a Travelodge for the night. Your Cort' looks a little ill at ease photographed at The Hythe; it needs to be somewhere with more Brutalist concrete and less 2005 mediocrity. Fit az phuk though. trigger 1
Ghosty Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Love the 126 and the second taxi, they were great. Not too keen on the green Dolly, and seeing as the grille means it's probably a 1500 at best... Why bother?!
fordperv Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Nice pics trig, your cortina is looking hot trigger 1
lisbon_road Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Your Cortina looks great, hope you can keep it that way so tidy. trigger 1
