Scheveningen, mid 1920s. Some sort of race/event, it seems.

Fascinating, not least because the Netherlands famously had hardly any motor sport events before WW2. I found this thread – https://forums.autosport.com/topic/34974-help-with-early-racing-in-the-netherlands/ – which tells us it's a sprint that was held on 8th June, 1923. I'm not very good at IDing American cars of this period, but that's the Essex right in the middle, with a very early Lambda in front. Parked behind that could be an Opel, maybe (car 19)? Car 21 is the 30-98 Vauxhall, with an Amilcar just behind. I' can't work out what Car 2 and the two others behind it are, or the other big American.

Where are you finding these great images?

Yes, organised motorsports wasn't common until Zandvoort opened in the 1940s. However, some events such as time trials, sprints and concours d'elegances were held before that, and the boulevard of Scheveningen was a popular spot for them - a long, straight, relatively smooth road and wealthy spectators. This was filmed in 1924: https://peertube.beeldengeluid.nl/w/d1BGDxwHscGfTWUERVYwuk

Most of these are from national archives. ABP, the photo archives from major cities, the archive of the "Beeld & Geluid" media museum. Searching through the archives can be a bit tedious, the keywords used are often inconsequent and sometimes plain wrong...

Berlin, 1921.

A Beringer...

... the Rumpler.

... Mercedes with "the most expensive paintwork of the show".

mercedesduur.jpg.da7aa6e956a46f909455155c3274823b.jpg

.. and something of which I'm not sure what it is. Seems to say "BOB" on the radiator.

Edit: BOB seems to have been a short lived (1920-1925) German manufacturer. No info though about this specific coupe -like model...

You CAN'T bump-start a Daf, no matter how hard you pull!

Amazing footage! If the date on this one is correct, then the previously-posted photo is from the 1924 event https://peertube.beeldengeluid.nl/w/tfxUFVAfaufEqye4rEPAfn

There's a better image of Car No.2 but I still can't tell what it is, yet

Moskvitch van (model 434) was a rare one even then, and extremely rare now!

I didn't see this first time round. Patrick Street, Cork looking North up Patrick's Hill.

I was on the Glasheen Road that the number 10 bus went down yesterday morning.

This model was never sold in the U.K. We had a Daffodil/33 van and a pick-up versions, but the estate car version never made it. Pity!

In fairness, I don't think that was sold anywhere. It's not a 'normal' Daf factory offering as far as I know. This looks like the work of a coachbuilder, built for a specific purpose (maybe @D.E knows more about 'Starke')

Not a factory model.  When this 750 (not a 600) was first registered, factory built kombis didn't exist yet. That small rear window seems to come from a 750 Bestel. I don't know what kind of business Starke of Apeldoorn was, but I do know that Apeldoorn used to be a city with several coachbuilders specialized in building hearses, ambulances, etcetera. Wouldn't suprise me if Starke either was one of them, or ordered one of these firms to build this.

Very interesting photo!
