A camouflaged road in Finland during the 'Continuation War' against the USSR, 1941. The trees were hung up with rope so the nearby Soviet watch towers couldn't see the road.

Darton, some official interest in the middle Mini, but the Gilburn is distracting a couple of 'em. Meanwhile Grandma continues selling her garden produce.

No Mini's or Gilburn's for official interest, but that chap looks shifty. Police patrolling Moscow streets during the 1980 Olympics.

'Come on dear, get a move on'. A Ural or Dnepr combo (to use the western names) and a Volga with an equally impatient passenger.

Here is some footage of the same waggon on the same promotional trip.

One thing that might take your eye is the crude modification to the doors to get those huge vents in. The steamers were warm at the best of times so I suspect that things were pretty unbearable in there in warmer climes.

Apparently the promotional trip came to an abrupt end when the waggon was involved in an accident. You might want to speculate if the accident was in part due to the left foot throttle which even then was a bit old fashioned.

The Italian Communist Party 'Sputnik-Car' during the Italian general election of 1958. Due to the angle it's difficult to see what's underneath this confection but I would hazard a guess at a Lancia, but it could be an Alfa Romeo.
