Volumex HPEs can never have been that numerous, and they are rare as bastids now, and I had a Beta Spyder too.

I once had a 1300 Sport MKII Escort and followed that with a 1300 Nova Sport.

Should have stashed them away really. Hindsight eh?

Stimpson bug..........if anyone can be arsed to find a photo of one. Party truck was to park at right angles to the pavement, leap out [i was capable of leaping then] pick up rear end and neatly parallel park it..........

I had a 1980 Subaru Leone 1800 GLF 4WD Saloon in 2008. The only known early Leone II Saloon surviving in Austria by then.

Sadly I was stupid and sold it to someone who soon got rid of it again. After that, it disappeared. For sure the rarest car I ever owned.

My Mk4 Cortina "S" must be down to a dozen or so survivors at most.

The diesel Renault 18 I briefly had a couple of years ago that Something Awful has now must be down to single figures.

I hada  63 Cresta PB Hydramatic a few years back, gearbox still worked perfectly

Had a look through photobucketto see what pics I had in there of my old crud. There's quite a few so here's a big pic dump of previous rare ones...

It went to an utterly reprehensible character who befriended me and made much noise about how they wanted to 'save' it and restore it to it's former glory. They subsequently sold it to a banger racer who smashed it up. Twats.

That's the one. Word has it, it was a shit banger anyway, just to add insult to injury.

Oh bugger, I want another Vauxhall Royale or Opel Senator now, and it's all your fault.

Didn't now you had a fairlady, Ed.

Tis on my bucket list (albeit fairly low down)

I wish I'd kept one of them now. The 1600 goes really well. Surprisingly so in fact. They are really solidly built too. I guess at the time I figured I could just import one that was more complete and in better overall shape for less than it'd cost me to fix it. Not sure if that's true any more now as no doubt prices in the US must have gone up a bit by now.

Who's that in the second picture, Station?

It's a Whizzkid!

This list is going to fall very flat as I have no pictures to back up these, but here goes anyway. Plus I guess that I am older than many of you, so some were just bangers back in the day...

My early 80's Vauxhall  buying period - several F Victors, inc' an Estate, even more FB's inc a VX4/90, HA viva 90.

More brits came and went with an Austin Atlantic coupe and a Metropolitan, not one but two Standard Atlas vans, Standard Pennant vans and a Triumph Courier van.

An American fixation ended with me importing a 1950 Studebaker business coupe, which I am sure is the only one over here.

Then things went a bit French with my current fleet including an Ami 6 saloon, 1962 base Renault 4, the only one in the country, a couple of Mark 1 Espaces and the oldest known RHD Renault 5...

In reply to FPB7's post with the big bus in it (why can't I make the quote a post facility work on here??) - did that bus ever pass through the hands of Newnham Coaches in Hampshire?  As I've mentioned on here before, there was a bus that did the rounds at our school in the 80s and 90s with an infamous NOB numberplate (snigger) that was in those colours - it would be great to hear it still survives.

This pic is a couple of years old now,she looks a little more scruffy now.

Will be giving some attention to the tin worm soon,

and a colour change.

Got an Alpine A610 which is one of 68 in RHD. Also had a few R21 Turbo Quadra's which were sold in very low numbers (140 odd I believe).

Nah, after being sold early by e PTE in 1982 it went to National Welsh, Clynnog and Trefor, then to Lewis, Anglesea from whom I bought it from with accident damage.

There was a series of NOB---M vehicles with West Midlands, some were Bristol VR and some Daimler Fleetline, both with the same body. The only difference was on the VR was a grille for the front mounted radiator. After WMPTE life a good few were sold off to independent operators around the country, the Fleetlines lasting till about 1985/6 but the early VRs were sold off due to structural defects. Unfortunately when MCW cut the hole for the rad on the VR, they lost a significant amount of strength at the front of the body leading to quite bad body movement at the front. I remember 4413 had the wonderful dancing staircase and windscreens until I did something about it.

This is my 1986 Cavalier 1.8GLi getting picked up off the 'bridge and being taken to the fragger in 2008.

June08039.jpg

Here's an oddity - one in ten cars sold in 1986 was a Vauxhall Cavalier.  You'd have expected a few of them to have lasted a bit, wouldn't you?  Except that this one which had been sitting rusting on my front lawn for 5 years before I weighed it in - having rusted away some more in the 60,000miles I put on it in 4 years - was the last known example of the mid-term facelift GLi known to the mk2Cav forum.

That vauxhall estate is gorgeous. A guy i know from the cortina club saved a bronze one like yours from a bootle scrapyard a couple of years ago, really bonny cars.

I know where there's an N-reg VX/4-90 saloon (a curious seventies orange-y peachy colour with a BVR), that needs love. I've got first refusal if/when he decides to sell. :-D
