Sporty's springtime swapshop. Poor photo content.

Well, after being accosted by mongs, chancers and the downright aggresive, I got the right arse with trying to sell the MG, and made a chance comment on here that I might swap it for something. Anyway, had a reply from bobthbeard, and after the exchange of messages and telephone calls, a deal was done, and a box was about to be ticked.

Rented the local recovery truck again, and loaded up the MG, heading straight for the Fylde coast, with Mrs S for company.

All uneventful. Arived at Dunc's house, a quick chat and walk round the cars, and the deal was done.

I CAN HAZ PORSCHE!!11!1!

The story goes that it was bought off a mate who had had it "restored". On further inspection, this restoration consisted of patches stuck on with bog and covered in nice shiny paint!

So, no tax, no MOT, no sills. WCPGW?

Here it is back at Sporty Towers

The plan is to either have it welded or try my luck doing it myself. Panel prices are, on first investigation, eye-watering, but a more thorough search may save a few quid.

Worst case scenario (and one I don't really want) would be to break it for parts. I really want to have a go of it, though, so getting an MOT is the much preferred option.

So ther. That's it. As collection threads go, it's pretty crap, but I like the outcome!

There's a lad in a farm unit near me that breaks these and not only is he all knowing in 944 knowledge he's also amazingly reasonable price wise. I'll get his number off my brother if you need it. He's in Newport Pagnell but I'm sure he'll do mail order.

nomnomnom

I'd be looking at other sets of sills from other cars I could modify to use on it. Either than or find out if tonybmw over on rr has any daughters and marry one of them.

If it's just the sills, I'd do it yourself. You can only 'win' by getting it on the road, they drive really nice and they have never looked 'outdated' like 90's Boxsters do now.

They're the same sills as an LT35 van. Or something. I read that on the internet.

These don't rust because they are German. Also nothing ever goes wrong with them because they are German.

Didn't someone on here weld up their 924's crusty sills?

Wasn't it Bobthebeard who this one came from?
