So, after managing to sell the two most unsellable cars going, and still turning a profit, I realized that I had no car again!!!

So, popped along to a local car dealer and bought this. It was cheap, has T&T and has full service history!

.... An Almera over in the corner too, quietly rusting away its front cross-member :-)

Oh yes. Bought it a heck of a lot cheaper than the autotrader price of course.

Nice one. Just like my Sirion under the skin really, but with even less power.

Tidy looking thing, there Panda. :grinning-smiley-043:

Don't take the hump with me on this one, the white flag's raised, but...can we run a sweep on when this one will be back up for sale? :-P:mrgreen:

Think I spotted that one on eBay and thought: "Hhhhmmmmmm!" :-D

I think the cross-member on mine is just holding together.

Probably when I get my company car sorted.

I wasn't expecting the timescale to be that random...!  5 weeks for me, please.

That looks like a truly awful car. In this respect, well done.

I had a Mira upon which this is based. It was actually quite good fun to hoon around in, although it was rudimentary and felt a bit flimsy. I suspect the build quality on these is going to be nowhere near as good as the Daihatsu. I looked at one once and the upholstery was already looking shabby despite low mileage.

It will only rust if you allow it too ;) Waxoil or plain old oil will keep the tinworm away

Have to say that's the sort of car I have (until now) paid no attention to whatsoever. Still got to agree, though, well bought, as was your previous choice! Got me more interested in this kind of thing now. Have to ask though....er, what is it?

Not quite, the Nippa is based on the smaller kei sized Mira (L series) the MyVi is based on the bigger M series Sirion.

Erm. On this sweepstake, who had 'big ends gone within 24 hours and taken back to the dealer to get money back' ???

Now without any car again! How do I do this all the time!?

Well yeah, but one's just an enlargement of the other isn't it?

That's bad news. Didn't the other Nippa on this forum also suffer some catastrophic engine woes?

Be interesting to see if said dealer advertises it again..

Or take the more sensible and economical route and push it off Southend Pier.

Yes, although I replaced the engine on mine for some reason - I think these engines sludge up really badly due to high rpms to get anything out of it, and irregular oil changes from the owner. I highly rate these cars - I've put 80's Wolfrace seats in mine (the original seats were awful) and coilovers, it drives pretty well, they're only 645 kg.

Didn't realised you'd punted the Pug on so quickly. Was it that awful?

Posted

Yes, Pug just wouldn't run smoothly.

That must be a record! Did they give you your money back?

Yes, dealer was ok about it.

Bugger. Least you made a profit.

Posted

No, lost a little on Peugeot, just made up for it with Suzuki.
