SOLD: Audi 100CC Avant LPG

Due to a big change in personal circumstances I need to get rid of one of my cars. As I've not used it since the Summer the Audi will have to go.

Previously owned by Hillman Imp, and Lankytin before him it's well known in the Autoshite circles. It's been stood for a while now, but started and moved about every month or so. It was in regular use with no issues to report, however I've had a look round it this morning to see what needs doing.

It needs a rear shocker fitting as one is leaking - supplied.

Slow puncture on one rear tyre

The battery is flat, but starts with a jump and once run for a while I think it will hold a charge.

The rear wheel bearings need adjusting and greasing, as one has play (it was off recently to change the handbrake cable)

It has no MOT, I put it through a test before it got laid up, and all the jobs - apart from the above were done.

It only runs on LPG at the moment as the carb has a leaky accelerator pump, never been a problem for me, and it will do Leeds - Birmingham on a tank.

It's the baby 1.8 (Just like a golf) which means it's not the fastest thing but it copes pretty well considering.

Whoever bought it new didn't tick anything on the options list, so the only equipment it does have is PAS and central locking. The flipside means less to go wrong!

It needs a thorough clean and polish, but does come up well.

I don't have the time to sort these jobs out, as i'm currently changing Jobs/Home/Life!!

I'll try and dig out some photos, but there should be some floating round on here somewhere.

This is an ace car. I am half temeted to buy it back for this money but have no room. If you are into cycling it KICK MOTHERFUCKING ASS YO! as there is easily enough rooom in the back for the whole of the TEAM SKY bikes, their kit and their drugs.

Still looks the same, its just a little dirtier.

I wouldn't put my faith in them fixing a hole in the side of a tyre you can put your hand into, but that's just the pessimist in me.

With a boot that big, you could just throw a wheel in there.

Is it a toroidal LPG tank, where the spare's meant to go?

If you can get hold of one, the space saver goes in the side of the boot on the nearside (you can see where it can be opened).  However, its not got a space saver, its got a Porsche 924 alloy wheel that normally lived on the floor behind the passenger seat when I owned it or on just in the boot as Sporty-Shite says depending on how the mood took me.

Meh, a lot of moderns have tyre fixing cans of goop and an inflator. If the hole is bigger than Jordan's chuff, that's what the AA is for. It's not ideal and I prefer a spare wheel, but it's a solution at least.

The downside is that once you use the goop, you need to buy more goop AND nobody will touch the tyre for a repair. Happened to SWMBO and that turned out to be a £95 nail in the tyre.

I'm in to cycling, but I'm not into Audis. So for that reason, I'm oot.

I'd definitely buy this, except it's not a 5 pot, and you're too far away.

Remember this?

Despite the puny 1.8, this thing was, apparently, a legendary A-framing tool with L_Tim at the helm.

Volksy forgot to mention that there is a shit load of spares for this car in my lock up. There are front wings, a bonnet, several doors of various condition, spare lights, original hubcaps, lowering springs (can even chuck in a pineapple), winscreen, headlights, door handles and so on.

It does indeed come with a shed load of spares (literally). I'm trying to find the time to finish the work of for the MOT, has been rather weather dependent, plus I've not had much vehicular mojo recently!

Hopefully with 12 months MOT it might get a bit more interest. If that happens I may be tempted to part with the 205 instead, reason being that I have to move house at the end of the month and will only have parking for one vehicle.

I looked at day insuring this for a couple of days to get it to and from it's MOT test, came in at £60. So I got an annual quote from Lancaster whom I insure the Peugeot with and it came in at £96.70.

So provided I get the MOT work done I'll insure it for the year and if someone is interested in buying it I can tax at their expense, Subsequently they can drive it home on the third party on any vehicle clause if they have it.

Price will increase by the cost of the MOT test and any parts.
