This is the only encouragement any of us need to attend.

That Moskvitch is obviously excellent, but how difficult would it be to register with no documents?

Is anybody else coming to this? the catalogue has got some fine chod amongst some quality classics. Looks like it could be a good day out.

A couple of my mates are coming along in a stag and a moggy and me and the missus will be there in the scim (Mondays mot permitting).

It's next Saturday peeps ... is anyone else going to be joining us on Kings Lynn?

Posted

I'd like too but I'm working nights Friday so won't be able to make it, take plenty of photos if you can!

Posted

I'd be up for this but unfortunately I'm delivering tat down South then. maybe if this happens again I'll be able to make it.

Mid-week bump for anyone wondering what to do on Saturday

I want to go, but I have 60p to my name and no petrol in the car.  But if someone wants to take lots of pictures of that Moskvitch for me I'd be your friend for [insert predetermined time here].

It's SWMBO's birthday, and therefore I must decline on this occasion, but keep this thread alive, will try and make another.

Saturday 25th January

Gates open 10am. Auction starts 1pm.

Admission £5, inclusive of catalogue subject to availability.

The Cattlemarket
Beveridge Way
King's Lynn
Norfolk

PE30 4NB

I'm meeting barmatt (and whoever he brings) there at about 12pm.

If anyone is looking for us drop me a pm and I can send my phone number.

I'm a little annoyed at the £5 entry fee, it's an auction so they should make their money selling cars not charging people to go in.

Loads of quality chod here. Even the Mosky looks pretty sound. And mypay cheque has cleared early. Let's hope this doesn't end badly...

The sixties 2CV in this sale is a proper honey. Will be interesting to see what it makes.

Luckily my Mrs is out today and I'm home with the children. Otherwise I might loose the space on the driveway to another car I don't need.

Keep your hands in your pockets :-)

When I saw this pop back up I thought it was going to be a live update on the hammer prices.

That 180B estate really was lovely.  Didn't stay to see what it made as it was right near the end and both me and the mate I was with needed to head home, but it had probably the best brown velour interior this side of a Vauxhall Royale.

I have mixed feelings about the Mosky.  It had a reserve on it (£500 I think); by the time you've added on £100 buyer's premium and then another £100+ to get it home and buy it a battery, the costs have started to mount up.  The fact that it had no paperwork, and Mr Bickle's recent NOVA-related woes, were enough to put me off.  My head is saying "good boy", my heart is saying "you twat".  I haven't yet decided which one is correct.

A lot of the other stuff went for strong money - including seven bags for a child's petrol-powered Porsche 911.  A lot of the interesting stuff was right at the start and had already gone through by the time I got there, so not sure what the beige Aggro and Hunter made.

Anyone know what the 1920-ish Bollee made? My mate wanted a crack at that but only realised the auction was today at about 3pm.

If anyone was thinking about putting their hand up at one of these, ACA only charge a 5 per cent commission which is a nice surprise compared to most auction houses, and are generally good people to deal with in my limited experience. They also seem to have some decent tat go through at quite low prices for the undesirable stuff. We got our Trojan there btw, a year ago almost to the day.

Wuvz - I missed Bickle's NOVA woes, what happened? That form and the entire system seems totally fucking hopeless tbh

Yup. They are nice folks. Sold my A90 Westminster there, though the way prices for those seem to have gone, I wish I hadn't!

I have a feeling the Bollée went for about 18 bags, but don't quote me on that - I wasn't paying full attention at the time.  Think it was older than 1920 though.  Unfortunately by the time I got there they'd run out of catalogues, so I wasn't able to note down hammer prices.

They do only charge 5% (+VAT), but with a minimum of £100, so that can add quite a chunk onto a cheaper purchase.

Mr. B fell foul of NOVA with the Ronda - it didn't get declared in time and racked up a bloody great fine.

I'm currently uploading pics and have most of the prices noted down though not all.

@Tagorasx, the white esprit went for £6800 and it had to be pushed through coz it wouldn't start. I missed the black one sorry.

It'll probably be tomorrow before I sort out any pics, but it was definitely a sellers auction, everything seemed quite expensive to me.

A knackered TVR Tasmin 280 made £1400, but that didn't meet reserve.

A TVR s series 280 went for £3600 with no MOT and questionable paint/bodywork.

Matra Bagheera with no T&T went for £3800 (not sold reserve not met).

It seemed to me like nearly half of what was going through was only provisionally sold as they didn't hit the reserve.

I think I may tart up my Renault GTA and stick it in the next auction there.
