Would I have this this Sierra belting around Nissan/Washington?

Yes, that would probably have been me! :)

Any news yet?

Belt done - looked like it had stripped some teeth after all - and running sweetly.

I've been thinking about moving this on for a while now mainly because it's been 8 months and I'm getting the itch for something else. My current contract at work is up at the end of September with a small severance payment so that seems like a good time to change. Just wanted to put the word out to see if there is any interest, or even just suggestions at how much I should be asking. I'd rather it went to someone here of course as I'm not sure I can face ebay.

The main conundrum that I have is to fix the jobs that need doing, or sell as is. The main two jobs are the offside front strut is leaking and the tyres, although legal, are quite elderly and I'm getting paranoid about a blow out on the motorway!

I've also just stuck 12 months tax on it so then I have the question of sell with tax or cash it in and put it back into the car fund.

As I say no big hurry and I'm quite happy to bomb around in it for now just wanted to make the first step because I know I'll just just procrastinate otherwise!

You should really ask about £200 for it. By private message. To me.

Bear in mind that from October, you won't be able to sell it with tax anyway. I have no idea where Sierra values are at the moment - for non-hot ones anyway. I do like it though.

Ah, yes, I forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder!

Nah, you were the model motorist.

I on the other hand... was exactly the same. :-)

I was driving like a TW4T to catch up to the Sierra.  Following it from A19 / A1231 flyover down to Makro turn off.  Its not everyday you see a Y-reg (why Reg?) Sierra.

Have you decided if you're selling it or has it wormed it's way back into your affections?

Yeah, I live just next to Makro. :)

Small world.  I live in the Royal Borough of Fatfield.

I have a huge love for Sierra's. I had a 1.6L in Crystal Green. Fabulous car and nippy as hell. Bit of a faff in side winds!

Glebe Garage provided most of our Fords and was way better than the local St. Helen's Ford. Sad to see it gone. Bloody shame tbh.

I am loving the Sierra+++, fave colour too. Fancy a swap for a Toledo with a TR7 engine in, needs paint and road tax.

So, I spent yesterday afternoon giving the Sierra a thorough hoover and emptying the boot of all the stupid crap I'd been lugging about. Must have sucked up a good few fistfuls of gravel from the driver's footwell! Carpets really are in great condition and I reckon a shampoo could bring them up a treat, although I'll probably leave that for the next owner! So after that I spent a couple of hours this morning cleaning the outside and giving it a once over with G3 clay mitt. Big improvement, but to be honest it really needs a good mop but at least it shines now! Now some pictures. :)

What a sexy beast. How much you gonna ask for it?

I honestly don't know yet. Depending on how much it will set me back I may yet get those struts renewed first, I just can't make my mind up!

That was starting to happen, I have to admit!

You just need to replace it with a newer Sierra

or one of mine and leave yours here  ;)

That is just ridiculously nice. Chatsworth blue cloth is one of the nicest interior materials ever to grace a car, being discontinued after 1984, along with the wood veneer in the door panels. These early Ghia's were just bloody brilliant.

In fact, I've just decided that one of these, tuned to something like 170hp, would be pretty much the perfect modern day stress-free conveyance.

Very good luck.

Typical. You go out to buy cake and end up buying a car. And cake.
