Its an amazing car to drive - 3 speed auto, 2ltr engine.

It has only 35,000 miles on the clock and feels like it is only a couple of years old!

Suggestions, comments welcome, especially on the wheels - not sure what to do.

I was thinking - gloss black on the rims, leaving the trim ring and centre cap chrome?

Heres a picture without the glare of the October sun.

THREE tone paint! Superb.I reckon you should not lower it because that wasn't the best conclusion last time.

Well, you've got a big old obscure Mazda with three-tone paint, I don't think you'll be chased away with a broom! Get registered!

Nice purchase, welcome to the Mazda Estate club :D How much did it cost if you don't mind me asking?

Posted

lucky sod.I wanted it but to far away for me just now, glad its gone to some one on here though 8)

I'm happy, and thats the main thing. It only needs one job doing, and that is replacing a fuse in the clock! Absolutely everything works, all electric windows, central locking, feather-light power steering, etc etc

Posted

Central locking and electric windows eh now that is posh :D I have the brochure with both the 323 and 929 estates in and in fact it says the only option available was the automatic trans. The 323 has a fag lighter and thats about it :(

Posted

Central locking is KWALITEE TAT as you still have to manually unlock the drivers door, get in then press a button on the console to unlock the other doors. Mind you, its just as well, because the car is so wide, I'd give myself a hernia reaching over to unlock the doors!

now thats some uber cool 'shite' :Dsuper cool purchase

Couldn't agree more. Don't go down the low ride road.

Nice one! Look after it, and definitely no lowering eh? Black or gunmetal wheels could be good though with the trim rings left on.That central locking arrangement is a Japanese thing of that era, my Laurels have it, as did the Cedrics. In some ways it's not bad, if you drive it yourself most of the time why have the rest of the doors open?JDM stuff takes it further, by automatically locking all the doors above 10mph or so.Thanks for joining us on OJC!

I had a 929 estate just like that about four years back. Lovely relaxing car to drive, if not the last word in performance or handling, and it turned on a sixpence. Great lights-on warning chime too. 8)

Great lights-on warning chime too. Cool

I'll have to go check.......... nope, no chime on mine :(

Here's the 929 a club member had not so long ago -

I like the wheeltrims, but not the flame thingy

Those wheeltrimz look like fray bentos pie tins. PAGE MR HIRST TO THE FRAY BENTOS DESK.

I love it! A family at the end of the street where I used to live had an identical one to yours except D-reg - does that make it quite a late one?

Posted

Total quality, absolutely loving it as it is!Southend-on-Sea number plate iirc.At $650 it seems a bit of a bargain to me.

Southend-on-Sea number plate iirc.

Westleigh to be precise, close enough though. Its lived its entire life in or around Southend.

Nice car. Subtle mods only needed this time...Taking it to the Goodwood Breakfast meeting this Sunday (Sushi specials)?

They look nothing like a Fray Bentos tin, though fitting pie tins as wheeltrims is a right idea. Rollin' on Steak and Ales!
