306 1.4 Meridian, Y reg MOT and a bit of rent £375 or cheap PX

Right, I've bought our lass a 147, and although it's not MOT'd, I really need the motivation to get on with it, so what better way than to sell her car, and leave one of us (probably me) to walk!

Y reg 306 1.4 Meridian 5 door, moonstone in colour, cracked front bumper and a dent in the tailgate. Rear wiper doesn't work, but I've no idea why, as I haven't even been arsed to check the fuse. Aircon isn't really cold, probably just needs recharging.

Good bits: taxed till end of Jan, MOT till 30th June. Remote locking, electric windows and mirrors all work. CD player. Half leather interior with a bit of bolster wear but otherwise good. Approx 105k.

All in all, a decent runaround with a couple of batle scars. Good on juice, starts first time blah blah....

It's £375ovno. It's in Bolton, although I can pick you up from local rail station or airport if you're really committed.

Old pics, but nothing much has changed, except for the dent in the tailgate that I'll put a pic up of, if anyone's interested.

I'll tell you why the rear wiper doesn't work: Because it can't be arsed. It'll work again on Friday for a very short while, then pack up for a week or two before lulling you into a false sense of social security and packing up again for another fortnight. I think all mine have performed this handy* trick at some point or other.

GR8 cars them and cheaper (than a 1.6) tax bracket too.

The 306 is the last decent car that Peugeot built...

I owned a 1.4 base model facelift 306 for a couple of years and truly abused it as I used it as a builders van while renovating my old house..

It really looks a good buy for someone I found the little 1.4 very nippy and economical...

The only problem I only had with mine was about once a year the bottom pulley would start knocking and would have to tighten it up.

I only found out it was the pulley after dropping the sump and finding that the shells were as good as new..

At least I was not the only one who thought this as when I went through the bills I found out even the Peugeot dealership thought the same 4 years previous lol

I've had the same rear wiper laziness on my Astra and Sunny. It's just worn out, and probably has a plastic gear inside.

ZX wiper used to do what Cav mentioned above, infact when I bought it the seller said it hadnt worked for years. Will be the wiring going into the top of the tailgate if anything.

Will be capable of 90+ everywhere too, the 1.4 in my ZX was (although the brakes, tyres and gearchanges couldnt)

Cavette to the chodphone. You have a space to fill!

Bump back to the top. MOT jobs have finally been done on the 147, so I'm going to need some £££ to tax it, and some space back on the drive.

There are new pics on AS F*cebook page, but it's just a bit dirtier! I will clean it if you buy it!

£375ovno. Hyper cheap PX considered.

FFS! Is everyone who owns a Peugeot taking the piss and trying to sell it on here this weekend?

Chris, on the rear wiper wipeage (or lack thereof) check that one of the cables hasn't come away from the connector block under the trim. My 306 and C4 have both done that. They'd occasionally work because a bad bump would force the cable back into the block temporarily.

mine the seal on the glass has gone and leaked water into the motor and it buggered it

Know someone looking for a 5 door mid-modern 1.5 or less, so this might be up his street.

Will speak to him Tuesday. He has my old Wagon-R currently so will do anything to get rid!

Posted

Jon, I'll have a look at that.

Panda, keep me posted. What is this Wagon R you speak of. Would it be worth a px or is it really as dire as you make it sound?

Posted

It is the 'T' plate one I had - I'd say worth more than a 306, tbh. But then I am biased, I loved it!

Ok, panda. Just asking in case it could make any deal easier.

Give it 4 days and then scrap it.

Seriously, though, that looks like a decent car at a sensible price.

Bargain, i still think these are a handsome looking car, if you was closer etc.

Swap for Mark 1 Civic?  :-D

Do you want to just bloody sell this soon or what? It keeps winking at me but it's got the wrong type of engine and I can't afford it. GLWSTYMCA etc.

Bloody hell Bob! Your even further south than I am and I was moaning about the distance! This would have been ideal for a 2nd car to replace the Acclaim.

I would buy it in six months if it was a white Nissan Sunny hatch and you threw some brown rubber floor mats in.

That's because I R MANLY (prolly)

I'll let you have first dibs when Princess has done with it!
