That Snap On lot looks to be a very good deal! happy0034.gif

Quite a fascinating variety and quantity of 'Tools on offer.

Someone's going to have hours of fun sorting through, inspecting and listing that... I rather envy them. drool.gif

Those passats are really quite nice to sit in. Never drove one but ive fixed a few.

Red hammerited steels and scruffy whitewall flaps on any 90s VW are a more certain prediction of impending bean can syndrome than white smoke on an S reg rover 400 with a big scrope all down the passenger side.

Never was a truer word spoken.

'Original wire rare wheels'

'will not accept anything less tahn £10000, so dont b other negotiating. This car is RARE'

I think he'd have easily achieved ten fucking grand if only he'd mentioned the words 'rare' and 'original' a few times.

I sold a '64 in pretty much the same condition for £3750 recently :)

And they're hubcaps, not wire wheels.

Anyone fancy a nice Sherpa Coupe? Late model with chrome conversion. Almost an entire MONTH AND A HALF of MOT left.

Just EIGHTEEN AND A HALF GRAND. Don't all rush at once now... It's got lots of paperwork you know.

35 biggies... For that ^^^ = Madness! icon_eek.gif

Yeah, but this is the UK. The nation in love with the Mk 2 Escort.

They're brilliant cars, but never in a billion years are they worth 35k.

*awaits a bollocking off that 'Capri love story' bloke berating me because Mk2 Escort's [sic] are icon's [sic] and everyone loves them blah blah blah dribble.'

If I had stupid amounts of money (and I mean stupid) I'd have that RS in a shot.

Then spend another £5K on restoration

I'm no Renault 4 expert (we need Mr Lobster or Greenvanman), but that looks like a much later 4 GTL then the nose (Ondine) seems to suggest. A 4 specialist had a very similar car in a recent issue of Retro Cars. I can't believe there would be many 4 GTLs with an earlier front end, so I do hope that isn't the same car that's been written off.

TBH Jon it's only the grille that differs there, I'm sure the actual bonnet was the same the whole way through, Would be pretty easy to bolt an earlier grille onto a late car, so might not be the same one. The wheels are also off an earlier one for what it's worth.

It is a late 1108cc GTL (think its an 85/C from memory). Its not the one that was in RC fortunately.

Fitting the chrome front grille, bumpers and earlier wheels is a relatively popular modification to make them look a bit older than they are. This one looks pretty nice but £1750 looks a bit salty n'est pas?

Heres a pic in happier times -
