I was mildly amused by the £750 being asked for this rusty/battered shitbox Passat (2.0 petrol) with 150k on the clock

elec windows and mirrors

Drivers window and passenger rear window don't work.....

also the elec mirrors don't work.

I will bet £10 that the next owner of this car picks it up with a hydraulic grab thing.

My mother always taught me that if I didn't have anything worth saying to not say anything at all....

"What a shitbox" is about the kindest thing one could say.

It takes a real old nail to look that dismal after a quick wash.

Nice to see it has been given the scene "kiss of death", limiting its interest to scrap traders and people wanting a spares car. There's really no coming back for a car like that.

Those passats are really quite nice to sit in. Never drove one but ive fixed a few.

Red hammerited steels and scruffy whitewall flaps on any 90s VW are a more certain prediction of impending bean can syndrome than white smoke on an S reg rover 400 with a big scrope all down the passenger side.

Hey I need a Rootes fix and these magazines could be just the ticket.....!

:shock::shock:

I'm tempted to hit the buy it now and when they want me to pay go, "Oh I thought they were £8.99"

How dare someone express their opinion on Retro Rides. Don't they know it's banned?

Think I know the person selling that Passat

Sorry it's not a car but this must be right up there in the dreaming stakes...

$4M for a fairly average painting that a 1st year art student could knock up????????????????????

fook can I be arsed reading all those updates.....

Regarding the Passat,

passenger rear door doesn't open from the outside, common problem on passats of this era and easily sorted if you're that way inclined.

12 months MOT

An MOT fail shirley?

I don't have much faith in the condition of a car where the owner CBA to repair doors that won't open.

My Cambridge had a rear door that wouldn't open from the outside at the MOT and it escaped with an advisory. I think the situation is different with front doors though.

The condensed version = pretentious shit.

Just been looking at Novas on the bay and what not. Would love an unmolested GTE or SR but the handful that aren't advertised as 'C20LET RED TOP TURBO NOT ON LOG BOOK' are fetching bloody big money now.

PaulH had been looking for one of those Sprite wheels for ages, to replace the sporty one on his car once its up and running again. Was dead chuffed to finally find one a couple of weeks ago for a middling 2 figure sum. Of course for years people would have been taking them off to replace with a shirt button of some sort.

Not entirely original, but still a real beauty. £1295 though  . Bloody nora! Even I wouldn't go as far as far to say it's worth that...

Here's another good one. Excellent condition for sure, but I'm not entirely sure a late Sierra Sapphire Cosworth is worth £13,495 :o . It doesn't even have leather...

I'd love an mkl5 16v LX in two tone. I have no idea why.
