Anyone fancy a MKII Cortina 1600e   needing FULL restoration ?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-CORTINA-MK2-1600E-1969-/142252482947?hash=item211ee8a183:g:locAAOSwLEtYhN9o

The price was so optimistic he dropped it by 2 grand within 24 hours of listing, ( maybe the drugs had wore off by this time ) but still overpriced by at least 6K

Seller is a tool

THE RADIO WORKS AND ITS THE ORIGINAL OPTION FROM FACTORY .

My arse

Ford Radios at the time had the Ford Logo on and I very much doubt this model of Pye was even made in 1969 - look much more late 70s-80s to me.

Concur, radio / cassette in 1969? Wouldn't have been anywhere near the options list.

Those drugs are still wearing off.... Despite ' Lots and lots ' of calls and people falling over themselves to give him 8K.... he's now dropped the price to 6.5K,  , never mind matey take it back and store it on the planet Zog, where you clearly came from !

Update...1st Feb... Now down to 5.5K... I bet he can't handle the prospective buyers wanting to hand over the cash !

Update ...6th Feb... Now Down to 4.5K... Keep going lad... still about 3k overpriced

Update...10th Feb...Re-Listed again... Now up to 5k,   WAIT... reduced to 4.3K !!!

This bloke wants £150 for two untested ECUs from an almost worthless car notorious for having unreliable ECUs.  Brilliant.

Anglia Van

Wears much of its original poverty spec trim which is nice, note lack of any bling, nor temp gauge etc etc I am pretty sure though that my 105E saloon dash only went to 80mph. I used to bend the needle on the bump stop with my chooned and balanced 997 oversquare block and high ratio diff

s-l1600.jpg

But Someone cut a couple of winders into the sides

doesnt appear to have been Mot'd since the mid 1970s and is NOT recognised by Doovla, no V5 nor any chance of getting one - unless a complete fruit loop manages to get it up and running.

s-l1600.jpg

Thrown into the bargain is that the front suspension is shortly going to launch at least one road spring into a stable orbit

s-l1600.jpg

To you mon brave £1500

verdict - some nice spares on it

and I have an itch for a 105E again

Jesus Christ. I had a G reg one of these in about 1996 and I think I paid less that £5k for it then.

That digital dash is doing well, mine developed some VERY strange habits and eventually stopped working altogether.

Definitely not diesel. My mum had a 1990 1.6 dgt back in the late 90's. Drove ok for the most part but always felt underpowered. Tailgate was massive on these and weighed about 3.5 tonnes.

Bit of wiki history check

DGT, (early Italian market DGT models were badged as 'digit', presumably in recognition of the digital dash, but this was quickly changed to DGT after a dispute over ownership of the name, leading to confusion about whether the model was diesel-powered.

I bought this in 2011 for £750, kept it nearly too years, sold it for £950 and now it's up north for £3990! (Admittedly it does say £1490 on Autotrader tho) It also attended Shitefest 2012.

Well found! To be fair i don't mind that, he painted the side which was keyed, fitted a new exhaust and i think he even refurbished the alloys. IIRC he ended up putting it though the auctions and getting about £1100 back for it.

that looks like a real survivor and I am not sure that 4k is that wide of the mark - even though it looks really frilly around the edges.

Mot history has been purged of the word rust which really surprised me

I think so too...  I used to know these quite well in their day. Fragility aside, they were a hoot to drive and very nimble - a mate had a succession of 3P and would run rings round the Escort boys who thought the world stopped at Fords.  He used to be able to give me in my Alfasud a run too

That isn't frilly.  That's better than most were at 6 years old !

LAND ROVER MRK3 12 SEAT WITH FULL ROOF RACK AND OVERDRIVE BARN FIND SPARE/REPAIR

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-MRK3-12-SEAT-WITH-FULL-ROOF-RACK-AND-OVERDRIVE-BARN-FIND-SPARE-REPAIR-/262841743030?hash=item3d3296b6b6:g:-vYAAOSw5cNYiKP4

Here because the sella appears to be a weapons grade bell end.

s-l1600.jpg

Looks fucked right?

I had almost forgot I had this until we started to clear barn.

Yeah Right! could do with your barn mon brave

Last time of listing or I will dump in field until I need some parts off it myself. It is not going for less than the price of the parts on it.
Add it up, Full roof rack, around £900/£1,000 overdrive £750 minimum, free wheeling hubs £200. Rest is for nothing.

Ummm full roof rack available brand new £260 inc VAT. "Patinated" roof rack worth somewhat less. probably £100
Overdrives reconditioned sell for £600-  as a used item of unknown quality probably £200
Freewheel hubs brand new £150 inc vat. of an unknown quantity somewhat less - probably £50

Freewheel hubs also deprive front bearing and diff of oil normally circulated by normal hubs. What you save in fuel you piss away even more in nasty wear and tear of the front axle

It has not been started in at least 4 years, and as you can see is not ready for the road. But mostly all there and doable.
I have set reserve on price of full length roof rack and fairley over drive and f/w/hubs. Where you go above that is for you, but will not sell under.

So I am nervously speculating that your reserve is set at £2k for a rusty fucked S3 109 Safari that probaby needs 4k in bits throwing at it + time + paint to make it the £8k beauty that you suggest.

GLWTS

or

Oi Mate Keep the fucked roof rack, overdrive and free wheel hubs along with your drug fuelled delusion as to their value and remove the reserve and sell it for £600ish

Said noone, ever to the owner of a Ford Cougar covered in plastic and wob.

Admittedly, it looks well done, but the proportions are all a bit wrong.
