I've never understood the attraction of mercs meself, but even so........Is there some alternative universe somewhere where an old Merc estate is worth c.£15k? :|

Seller: Charles Ironside Classic Cars

Only this time he's paralyzed from the neck up. Fifteen large is stupid, he'd be lucky to get £3,000 for that the daft bastard.

Worthy of a mention not just because of a stupidly laughable price but also for taking Bell Endery to a whole new level. Even extras-pecialness for his number plate blanking FAIL:

'Stand out from the crowd'

You could also 'stand out from the crowds by running round a livestock market in the knack whilst coating your bollocks in a tin of nuclear waste. It'd probably be less painful and would DEFO be less embarrassing.

I'm going to fucking kill the next person who starts their eBay ad with "Here we have..."

I. BASTARDING. WELL. KNOW. THAT.

What the fuck are those chimneys on the back all about?

It's a 2.5dci Nissan, not a fucking 700hp Scania...

Starting bid: £24,995.00

Jaw dropping

will only be putting this on ebay only once..

Looks as though you'll be keeping it then

Updated and worse than ever, for £25000 start price you will get....

Worlds most repulsive steering wheel and ill-fitting stereo:

A ragged motor:

changed the head gasket (only blown because I was chasing a motorbike and turned up the boost to high

and something not perfect:

there are still things to be done but that is to be expected, the car is 26 years old, they are not major things, will try and list those things in the week

Absolute Fruit

The ill-fitting stereo is an Apexi boost controller for the turbo - 5-600 quid's worth. The whole dashboard area does look like shit alright though - like something out of a Knight Rider porno mag.

The LHD thing and the slushbox kill it for me. Oh, and the wheels too. Gah.

If u dont understand..then their not your language of technology ...consider the huge survival rate..Nth Africa proves that..all parts still available..and I suggest u look at what the Germans are asking for 300Ds...heaps..[but u wont becos German is probably beyond u]

I get it - I don't see a difference between one of those at that money and a Citroen DS Safari for similar wonga - they're both pretty much the best you can have in a classic estate that is also practical and usable.

My old W123 230TE was far and away the best car I have ever owned.

Those old mercs are currently trendy with middle class psueds who move to my hometown from London. You know, the organic cafe types.

What does the price of 300D's in Germany have to do with anything? You might as well compare the price of 300D's on the moon.

Most cars are way more expensive in mainland Europe... Not 15k expensive though. Have a look on http://www.autoscout24.eu - plenty of 300D's under 5000 euro, so your argument doesn't hold much water.

I don't see why you feel the need to make personal insults because you don't agree with somebody's views :roll: Grow up.

I'm not sure that the huge survival rate in Africa is particularly relevant either. There's a fare amount of old BL stuff surviving in Africa as well, Austin Victorias and the like. I would have thought the fact that Africa has a slightly different climate to northern Europe is a major factor, not that they were outstandlingly produced cars in the first place.

I'd give him two and half for one of those Merc estates.

However, although I can read German I think perhaps their 'technology' is beyond me. I know text speak is.

And that the seller's a fuckwit.

Enough of the text speak shit and the baseless abuse.

The entirely unintended irony was quite amusing though.

Mini Shell

This "red with black roof" shell is apparently a genuine cooper - Not some old Mk 2 shell that someone had drilled a hole in apparently.

Classic citroen ZM I found a gem!

Found this down the road! the old chap couldn't got in it anymore, bless him! she's had full service since i got her,new top guality discs n' pads all round(not cheap),new back box exhaust, new battery,no dents or scratches no cracked lenses or headlamps, everything electric and it all works, slight stitching damage to drivers seat slight blemishes to paint but you have to look for it! a serious future classic;they only made 1800 of these for the U.K in1994.I don't know how many are left now but i'm sure its not many, not in this condition anyway...

Time of the month?

I did wonder. Fotorabia makes many epic posts so I though some keyboard warrior had stolen his log-in. Most unlike him. Chill and come back please!

I like fotorabia, he has made some of the most interesting contributions on here.

I've just came on to post that same car, that's crazy money talk, I can't see those ever making £5k?

A really tidy Calibre will within the next say few years, and there was one SRi 130 knocking about that deserved the money, but that had been rebuilt from the ground up using new, genuine parts and could have passed off as a brand new car it was that good.

Tbh half that asking price would be on the limit of it's value imho.
