Bargain that. Will this be going the Valhalla of old Volvo's, Scotoshite I wonder?

Yup, Will be going round the oval at this rate, would rather keep it on the road, dropped price to try & tempt someone to take it on.

If it doesn't sell, give me til the end of the week... I can ill afford a fourth one but I hate seeing a healthy dog put down. That and I'll have extra coin on Friday and two weeks off.

I had a feeling you would struggle to resist the 'charms' of a white turbobrick

Argh... I'd love to save this, but I could only take it on if I was to send my (much rarer but MOT-less and poorly) V6 one to the frag machine

I have never seen on of these in white. And I also did know that they made these as late as 'P'. That has to be one of the last 940s Shirley? OMG L8 REGINALD MADNE55.

I hate seeing a healthy dog put down.

It will be bangered with a boot full of Tagora brochures with a nun strapped to the roof and a monk stapled to the bonnet if no-one buys it.

Any further info on this re faults etc.

Hi Dave

No faults as I know, runs great, travelled all over uk in it.

Autobox is smooth, overdrive works.

Goes, stops, turns, just needs a bit of loving on the outside, a few dings, scratches etc...

Had new brake hoses at MOT.

Starts first time.

Just surplus to requirements now.

If it helps anyone then if they buy it with the tax I can 'store' it in Chester until such time they can collect it.

 Hi Dave

Tax would be £187.50 as it has 10 months left on it.

Its about £12 on megabus from London to Preston. Could pick you up from there depending on which day etc...

Cheers

I love it but it’s 174 miles from me.

I do believe a couple of the Scotoshite massiv went down to Bristol for a Volvo recently, which is somewhere around double double that distance.

Ok, 174 miles is definitely part of the reason, there is always the space to park it problem but the overwhelming reason is I have been given the OK to buy a car that I would really like and do not want anything to get in the way untill I can find one.

upminster into lahndan 5.50

first class single from there to preston 52.50 (cheaper than the standard single)

megabus 22 quid

they dont go from stansted or cambridge to here (else peterboghorror up here would be easy)

(had to do this in jan to chelmsford and it was a pita then too)

national express from romford to preston is 27 quid but take 8 and half hours :roll::all_coholic:

LOL @ the guy on the FB page asking if you'll deliver a £250 car 250 miles to Norwich.

I'm guessing he's joking but you never know....

I can't believe this didn't sell before!  There may be a phone call coming because I'm trying to talk myself out of it (again) and it's not working...

Viewing arranged for tomorrow afternoon.  It was inevitable, wasn't it?

I live too near to ignore it.  Sorry Dave!

Last time, I eventually failed to proceed because my Cherry is a decade older, and gets into Classic Car shows.  A 17-year-old Volvo clearly won't, especially not with battlescars all over it.  The new price structure manages to outweigh that consideration.

It isn't all over yet.  Tomorrow is only a viewing.  But I have to say, I'm not known for walking away from a car I like.  And I do like a big comfy automatic Volvo.....

Hey Eddy

If you are in Preston tomorrow.....

Free Ribble Bus trips round the town.

Im taking the kids to the steam railway to get some hardcore Deltic Action and then will be chugging round the town on some old Double Deckers from Ribble.

Sadly no, I'm not expecting to be in Preston.  My dog has an appointment with a vet in Lancaster, and it's easy enough after that to turn left to view a Volvo, rather than right to head straight home.  If we did go to Preston, all the fun would be over by the time we got there.  Never mind, have a great day!

And no, I'm not even slightly Scottish! :D

It's mine!  Collecting tomorrow, thread to follow.  Possibly including an ad for a Cherry...

Thank fuck Eddy, I was expecting my bollocks to get forcibly removed when I did the inevitable. Well bought - welcome back to the Volvo Massive!
