trigger Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I really don't understand all this CB talk, anyway there was a small truck show up the road from me this morning at the local truck stop, I thought I'd pop along with the camera, I don't know anything about lorries but I'm sure some of you chaps with appreciate the photos. There was a few old cars there too. Even those these alloys didn't suit this I thought they were pretty cool, I remember Top Gear magazine reviewing a car with them fitted in the mid 90's. This has a 7.5 Chevy lump IIRC. Anyway on to the trucks. This is a mates wagon, he's already moaning about it being black and keeping it clean, it's also done 7000 miles since the beginning of the month! brickwall, Vantman and v8 scania 3
trigger Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 I loved the signwritting on this one. Shep Shepherd, Vantman and scruff 3
trigger Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 Check out then length of this, there's two other wagons on the back and well as the pickup in the rear wagon! Barry Cade, Vantman and Shep Shepherd 3
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Nice pics. But I do have to correct you on one minor factual error - Ronal Teddies are in fact the best alloys and instantly suit 100% of vehicles.
Wilko220 Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Lovely stuff (apart from that last one, obvs)
Negative Creep Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Nice pics. But I do have to correct you on one minor factual error - Ronal Teddies are in fact the best alloys and instantly suit 100% of vehicles. And if they're genuine are they not worth OMG DUB STANCE mega money?
brickwall Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Great truck spots. Of note, J&M Murdoch in Paisley are a skip lorry company now as well as haulage. I notice these things.
warren t claim Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I'd rather sign on than drive a blinged up Scania. I can almost smell the frilly curtains from here.
trigger Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 That pink one at the end was raising money towards a very young family member who had a stroke and they wanted to treat him to a holiday in Disney world, now as sad as that is I did feel that they would have been better of saving the money on the paintwork (which are pictures of the child and things he likes) and putting that in the pot instead. warren t claim and brickwall 2
warren t claim Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 The only good thing about a Scania is you can drive them with your left thumb. Utterly wank Opticruise gearbox and a windscreen too far away to stick your sat nav to. The new ones have lost all their SAAB influenced interiors and have a dashboard that looks like it was lifted out of an early Pug 405. oman5 1
Ghosty Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I'm just going to assume this was a Scania club meet or something.... quality. Though I've always wondered what those TIR plates are, turns out they're a customs/import duty thing.
Pillock Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Nice, and I instantly feel much older by recognising some of those "classic" Scanias from when they used to be in use around where I grew up. I'm led to believe a "10-4" police radio code is "not available for reasons I'd rather not mention which can include, but are not limited to, nipping into a McDonalds for a poo, or going to the chippy". This flies in the face of every American cop movie I've ever seen but I was told this by an ex Norfolk copper.
trigger Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 I hadn't even realised that it was a Scaina meet! What a wally! I knew it was called Gathering of the Griffin but it never clicked!

warren t claim Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Blinged up Scania's don't look right without Oirish number plates. I'd check your bank cards Trig, some of those Malmo works of art look like they'll have some very strong magnets stuck to their gearboxes.
mercrocker Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Great pics, nice to see well preserved early Scannies....All too soon have the mid 70s faded into history. Wish I had used my camera more back then, or rather, I wish it had not took such shite picktewers.....
Pillock Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Erm.... magnets stuck to gearboxes? Wassat all about then?
Cavcraft Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 It either makes the truck quicker or knackers the new fangled tacho's up so you can fiddle what you've been doing. warren t claim 1
Faker Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Some absolute minsters there trig. I'd love an old truck of some sort. Old fibreglass bodied ERF! Mmmmmmmmm.
retrogeezer Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 those teddy alloys a worth a mint...Polo driver should sell them!
oman5 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Great to see so many 2 and 3 series scanias surviving, IMO the 3 was the last decent scania before they went all plastic and shit. I did many thousands of miles behind the wheel of a 113, it never broke down and put up with staggering levels of abuse. plus you didn't need to put a magnet on the gearbox. scruff 1
