Blimey, why all the clamour for pictures?

We all know what a black cab looks like.

It's black.

It's a cab.

Wakey wakey!!!! Da photos are here, albeit slightly crappy one's.

It's a Taxi! Whoohoo! It even has a name...... Jo (don't do male names for cars, it's just how it is).

So, Jo the Taxi  :P  :D  :D

Trundled round for about 5 or 6 miles this evening, just to get more of a feel for the cab. It rattles along quite nicely. I might look at replacing the drivers seat with a Rover 45 one. They are cheap from the breakers and have a very flat base that lend themselves to being placed in non-Rover vehicles quite easily. The original seat is okay for short distances but is err, rather firm. Read solid.

Must get a new indicator bulb tomorrow. I started to clean the drivers cab area, it was a bit grubby to say the least. I can tell what column stalks are for what now.

The bloke I bought it from is going to try and get me an intercom for the cab as talking through the glass hatch is limiting.

All in all - am I happy? Oh yes! I'll be taking it over to my mates place this week to look at getting the MOT done. It runs out on the 22nd, so I might as well do it asap.

So, there it is.

Thanks for the comments over the last few days, they've been quite the giggle

It still has the ramps and additional step. I found a plastic bag of papers and a small note book under the seat. I will investigate this further.

I downloaded the drivers manual from the interweb yesterday, very useful.

No, not yet. I live in hope (as long as they are female and between the age of 20 to 35).

These late ones are my favourite FX4 models, with the 'Fairway' script on the back.

There were still a few knocking around in service in Glasgow the last time I was there.

I have to agree.

The Dawn French version was funnier.

The door mirrors are bloody hopeless. I have some others to try, but they are chromed. Would that look out of place?

Excellent stuff! Make sure you remember to keep the back doors locked otherwise you'll end up with people getting in while you're sat at traffic lights!

Typical, you post some pics of the cab and VA doesn't even acknowledge it in spite of all of the foot stamping. Tsk!  :D  :D  :D

It looks really smart. I expected more of a heap considering the price - that's a crazy bargain.

Sorry, it's all been overhyped, I don't care anymore.

JUST KIDDING! *kermit flail!*

Nice cab for the money PBK.

Maybe Vulgalour can go and bash one out now.

Make me a promise though, please. When I'm in Central London with my lorry, do a U turn in front of me.

I was driving down Oxford Street one night, I'd just finished tipping at a store in Regent Street. I had to turn left, took a wide swing so my trailer didn't take out the building on the corner, and a bloody black cab came up the inside. I had to stop and wait while he turned left first. I had four indicators going down the left side too.

When you can do that PBK, you can call yourself a true cab driver.
