If Dave wisely says "no cars, please, cars are shit", then how about an expenses paid weekend of deluxe B and B caravan keg bitter and scampi supper mayhem in Morecambe, or some other shiter paradise?

Dave chooses, we deliver.  There should be some epic national relay-collection mission with associated thread and picz, if we can find a car that won't explode while being passed from shiter to shiter at dodgy ring-road rendezvous points up and down the country. The car should arrive with a suspected OMG HGF, and an enormous pile of wrappers from disgusting garage food outlets piled on the passenger seat.

Cavette and Shep, Dave has done such (Rover) sterling work on the revamp of the forum, that I think that buying him some primo chod could be a shite way of showing him our gratitude.   As noted above, if Dave prefers not to be burdened with some fetid and skanky piece of moto-trash, we buy him at the very least a slap up feed of prawn cocktail, massively overdone rump steak, black forest gateau and warm Liebfraumilch in a Berni Inn or equivalent.

A thank you, Is that the best you can do Trigger. You should have your Cortina removd and given to him for saying nothing more than that. Dave has worked for at least a weekend on this project and taken the flack from all the "ooh It doesn't work" mob. You yourself have been raised to the heady heights of Moderator. You are probably sitting way up in your office pressing the delete button on hapless spammers as we speak, probably because you already have a Viagra supplier lined up, or a new kitchen with triple glazing already installed. I have also heard that 3 times so far this week someone at the docks has been heard to yell DELETE and then has pushed the DUMP CONTAINER button instead, resulting in the flattening of 3 Scanias and 1 Eastern European driver.

Thankyou ? The guy deserves a knighthood, and if enough of us put up a case for it he will have one, because that,s how it works, if he is a paid up Conservative.

I think Trigger is absolutely spot on myself. Yes, we're very grateful and a gift of some sort might be pleasant, but a car does seem a bit much. I've given up weeks of my own personal time to keep a car club going. I didn't expect any reward for it. Volunteers are what keeps the world of old cars going. I'm very grateful, but it doesn't mean I want to buy every person involved a present. Also, I'm skint.

Does Dave actually need or want a car? It might make more sense to set up a PayPal donations page we can all chip in a 5 or 10 quid now and again to cover hosting fee's and let Dave buy himself some biscuits.

If he then needs money for upgrades, backup storage or anything else that'll put him out of pocket there'll be cash there.
