BMW Tat collection thread.

Thought i would try my hand at one of these threads.

 

Up bright and early, for short drive to my local station and nasty leyland bus type train to here.

Board (on-time) 08.41 train to London and relax reading Kenneth Williams diaries during journey. Sorry but I was a little too self consious to take train photo's and only managed to grab this.

Arrive in london for yet more tube/ train action and arrive at Tulse Hill. Followed by a 20 minute walk through the streets of Sarf London, trying not to look like a tourist.

 

Find Rob's lock-up, realise I don't know what Rob looks like, so tentatively introduce myself to the only bloke around. luckily it was Rob and low and behold hiding in the underground car park there is the BMW.

 

A little look-see and a chat later, and we're off to the building society (I had done my research on where it was) and the deal is done.

An unfamiliar part of London, and an unfamiliar car, always a good combination. Still I headed south for Croydon and the M25.

had a change to heart at the South Circular and headed for the M3. Traffic was not too bad, but still best part of an hour to be free of London.

Once on the M3 I pushed a little harder on the gas peddle. Rob had left a fair bit of fuel in the car and the economy meter thing was showing the good side of 30 whist wafting along at 70. It's a beautiful day, engine nice and cool and lovely 6 cylinder soundtrack as I bowl along. Whats not to like.

 

 

After 100 miles I needed some more juice so I pulled in somewhere on the A303.

Looks nice though, I enjoyed my E36 so next time I venture into retro bimmerness I might go a little braver and deeper.

As you can see, I'm not photogenic....Was happy to see it off in good hands though. The A303 plus six cylinder action must have been superb, I love that road (when not full of caravans).

 

I forgot to say Andy the radio doesn't work, but after 180-odd miles I'm sure you found that out for yourself!

Cool motor.

I still want another one of these one day, but it gets harder and harder to find a nice one that hasn't been razzed to death by a small time drug dealer, or crashed into some shopping trolleys by OMG RWD DRIFT WEPON CRU.

 

I fucking love Little Chef. Something about the crappy atmosphere that I can't explain. Maybe because it's like going back to 1988 every time you go there.

Funnily enough, I did manage to coax some music out of the radio. Quite interesting to set the presets with no LCD display.

I'm glad this not-quite-you-but-perfectly-decent motor has found a good home at last.

Nooo, not again!

 

I'm missing it already as it is a lovely motor, but I can now get back to driving old giffer cast-offs Men used to look at me a lot when driving the E30, something which I'm not used to.
