Any Scotto Shiters near Brechin?

I really fancy this, I must need help, but they're extremely rare and would fill a gap in my Renault line up that probably won't be filled if I don't get one soon.

Car was running fine with not hint of any impending issue. I was visiting my father in hospital and had just turned into the car park when it just cut out, fortunately rolled into a car space. Car turned over but wouldn't fire. My limited effort seemed to show fuel was getting through and hence electrical, possible HT! Tried looking at HT pack but don't have the means or knowledge to test it.

 

Gearbox is fine.

It would be absolutely EPIC if someone was able to view and perhaps eliminate a completely borked engine and report on the car otherwise.

 

Or even get it going and drive it to Cairnryan for me

Brechin is quite a long way from the cars you were looking at Eddy.

And no, completely unfamiliar with that engine, which is half the reason I want it. I think they're chain driven but my fear is that I pay the guts of £600 total to get it home and it has a snapped belt

It's a PRV engine isn't it? I'm pretty sure they're chain driven.

Cheers Tayne. I'd just like a basic opinion on the rest of the car and the overall feeling from it. Hopefully try to start it and maybe rule out a snapped belt as well. But don't want anyone to go out of their way.... only if they've got F all else to do this weekend

Tayne - I'm not kidding when I say you could really make money out of your car viewing tactics.

 

A load of photos and a video showing twice the amount of stuff I would've checked myself if I were viewing it. A top man, thank you very much for this once again.

 

Unfortunately the car is in a pretty weathered state. Well, worse than weathered actually. The paintwork is horrible, the interior is damp and mouldy and there's a good load of corrosion just waiting to need serious money spent on. All of which I wouldn't have known without Tayne going to view it.

 

If it stays at that money I may still be tempted.... But have taken the rose tinted spectacles off thanks to the top work of a Shiter.
